[Marketing Week] Bob Koigi: Creative strategy stars in 2026 Super Bowl ads
As Super Bowl LX approaches, brand advertising is shaping up to be nearly as competitive as the game itself, with early testing suggesting 2026 could be the strongest year yet for Big Game commercials.
Marketers view the Super Bowl as more than a sports broadcast; it’s the single largest spotlight in U.S. media, reaching over 120 million viewers in one night and creating cultural buzz that ripples long after kickoff. With 30-second slots fetching around $7–8 million, brands are pushing creative boundaries to justify the expense and capture maximum attention.
Industry analysts say the 2026 crop reflects a strategic shift: campaigns are more emotionally driven, culturally tuned and digitally amplified than ever, with many brands planning multi-platform rollouts that extend their big game stories well beyond the broadcast.
With both creativity and stakes high, this year’s Super Bowl ads are more than commercials, they’re brand statements, and early signs point to an advertising showdown that could be remembered alongside the game itself.
