Doubledeck names Craftmore global creative partner
Craftmore will also build a headless website on Storyblok combined with Shopify, designed to support the brand’s direct sales and rental model
German snowboard brand Doubledeck Snowboards has selected Utrecht-based creative and digital agency Craftmore to develop its brand identity, build an e-commerce platform on Shopify, and create its global advertising campaigns.
The brand aims to expand across Europe, North America and Asia. The assignment follows a refinement of its brand strategy by Ablestar. Like Craftmore, the agency is part of I.C.Y. Group, the agency collective launched in July this year by Michel van Velde and Floris Derksen. GrowMads is also part of the group.
Three key components
The brand identity is the first component. Craftmore will also build a headless website on Storyblok combined with Shopify, designed to support the brand’s direct sales and rental model. The third component involves creating and managing international campaigns targeting experienced riders, beginners and rental partners.
Michel van Velde, CEO and co-founder of Craftmore: “We have started developing an innovative and distinctive visual identity that perfectly reflects Doubledeck’s technological advantage and lifestyle.”
Bow construction and rental model
Doubledeck was founded by Andreas Kramer and combines a snowboard with a patented bow construction, in which the rider’s feet are positioned above the board. According to the brand, this provides greater grip, cushioning and control. Doubledeck has previously won an ISPO Award and works with snowboarder Terje Håkonsen. Its models are called Carving D, Turning D, Rocking D and Freeing D.
The brand also rents out its boards to consumers and retailers through a Let-to-Rent model. Doubledeck says it reuses up to 75% of the material from returned boards to produce new ones.
