Omnicom leads billings amid share price fall

The six funds followed by Marketing Report showed predominantly negative figures between 15 and 22 September. Omnicom fell 5.6%, making it the biggest decliner, in a week when research firm COMvergence ranked the group’s media division first for new billings.

Havas was the only gainer. WPP closed virtually unchanged.

Omnicom

Omnicom fell 5.6% to close at $75.34. According to COMvergence, Omnicom Media secured $3.3 billion in new billings in the first half of 2026, more than the other four global media groups. There was no company news this week that explained the share-price decline.

WPP

WPP closed at 384 pence, virtually unchanged from the previous week. Nestlé has appointed WPP to oversee content production in Greater China. WPP is developing a model that brings together social, content, KOL marketing, commerce, media and production, with a hub in Wuxi and the WPP Open platform. The operation will produce more than 35,000 pieces of content annually for brands including Nescafé and Purina.

Publicis Groupe

Publicis fell 1.3% to close at €97.48. On 16 September, the group issued a €500 million bond maturing in September 2030, with a 4.1% coupon. The proceeds will help finance the acquisition of LiveRamp, the data collaboration platform that Publicis agreed to acquire in May for $2.2 billion. The transaction is expected to close by the end of this year.

S4 Capital

S4 Capital fell 1.4% to close at 45 pence. Nirvik Singh will step down from the board of directors on 30 September, having joined in May 2025, and will become CEO EMEA Marketing Services at Monks on 1 October. Singh previously served as global chief operating officer and president international at Grey Group. Alina Kessel will succeed him as chair of the nominations and remuneration committee.

Dentsu Group

Dentsu fell 1.3% to close at 3,591 yen. In Bangalore, Dentsu India opened the Performance Studio, a unit combining creative, AI production and performance media. The studio is expected to produce more than 1,000 pieces of content per month. Abhirup Datta, CEO of Dentsu India’s performance division, will lead the unit.

Havas

Havas gained 0.3% to close at €18, making it the only gainer among the six. Between 14 and 18 September, the company bought back 5,000 of its own shares at an average price of €18, as part of a €50 million buyback programme launched in May.

Havas Media won the media account of UK bed retailer Dreams following a three-agency pitch. Starcom was the previous agency. Havas CX has also expanded its partnership with software company Acquia from Europe to North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. The partnership is being delivered through Inviqa, Havas CX’s digital agency.
