TGJones appoints FINN Partners for UK PR brief
FINN Partners has secured UK retailer TGJones as a client, taking on a communications brief that includes earned media, reputation management, cultural partnerships, and brand storytelling. The agency will support the retailer’s strategy to position its stores as community hubs on the high street.
TGJones operates more than 450 stores across the UK. Alongside its traditional range of stationery, books, gifts, and toys, the retailer is expanding its in-store offer to include community services such as Post Office and banking facilities.
The store concept also includes dedicated retail spaces featuring products from brands such as Hobbycraft, Toys“R”Us, and Scribbler. The model aims to broaden the role of high street stores beyond retail by combining shopping with essential local services.
Under the new agreement, FINN Partners will lead communications activity designed to build awareness of the brand and support its repositioning in the UK retail market.
The appointment expands the agency’s consumer practice portfolio, which includes clients across retail, food, beverage, and lifestyle sectors. Current accounts include Berry Bros. & Rudd, Coral, Dole Sunshine Company, Ladbrokes, Lyma Life, Toolstation, and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
Liz Treversh, Managing Partner – Consumer Practice, FINN Partners: "The brief here is equal parts exciting and challenging. A new name but also a familiar look and feel, so lots of storytelling opportunities for us to go after. The team at TGJones has been brilliant at onboarding us fast and thoroughly and we’ve loved spending time in store and learning about the services, product and people that make the brand so special."
Emma Smyth, Commercial Director at TGJones: "It was essential that we partner with a PR agency that deeply understands the nuances of the retail landscape. FINN Partners brings a wealth of industry experience and a proven track record of accomplished, creative work that resonates with consumers. Their ability to tell our story and communicate our ambition, as our stores into hubs of the high street is what won us over."
