Spritzer Sparkling builds campaign around local food
The brand positions sparkling water as a palate cleanser that can help diners experience the flavours and textures of each bite
Spritzer Sparkling is using Malaysia’s Merdeka and Hari Malaysia celebrations to encourage consumers to reconsider familiar local dishes through its nationwide Reset Rasa campaign.
The campaign centres on Malaysia’s food culture, pairing Spritzer Sparkling Natural Mineral Water with dishes including nasi lemak, satay, char kway teow and roti canai. The brand positions sparkling water as a palate cleanser that can help diners experience the flavours and textures of each bite.

Reset Rasa focuses on the idea that familiar dishes can become so embedded in everyday life that consumers overlook the flavours, aromas and textures that make them distinctive. The campaign encourages diners to refresh their palates between bites and pay closer attention to each mouthful.
Nasi lemak serves as the campaign’s hero food pairing, reflecting its place in Malaysian food culture. Spritzer Sparkling highlights three food-pairing benefits: carbonation that refreshes the senses and palate, a neutral profile that allows the food’s flavours to come through, and a refreshed palate between bites.
Shiao Chan, Head of Marketing at Spritzer: "Food is one of the strongest connections Malaysians share, regardless of race, language or background. Many of our favourite dishes have become such a familiar part of our daily lives that we sometimes stop noticing what makes them so memorable. Through ‘Reset Rasa’, we want to encourage Malaysians to embark on this journey of rediscovery. Slow down, savour and take pride in the flavours of the iconic local foods they already know so well with a new sense of enjoyment. With zero sugar and no calories, Spritzer Sparkling Natural Mineral Water is the perfect dining companion that complements our local cuisine without overpowering it, making every bite more enjoyable."
Reset Rasa encourages Malaysians to rediscover flavours
The campaign is supported by a Merdeka commercial film highlighting the role of food in connecting communities across generations and cultures. The film uses familiar dishes and everyday dining moments to explore the relationship between food, nostalgia and national identity.
Spritzer Sparkling is also promoting the campaign through its wider marketing activity during the Merdeka and Hari Malaysia period, encouraging consumers to approach familiar Malaysian dishes with greater attention to their individual flavours and textures.
Merdeka campaign connects food with cultural identity
The campaign positions food as a shared cultural experience while giving Spritzer Sparkling a role within the dining occasion. Its messaging centres on refreshing the palate rather than changing or reinventing traditional dishes.
