San Francisco Bay Coffee spotlights family values in vibrant new campaign
Family-owned and responsibly sourced coffee brand San Francisco Bay Coffee has launched a new integrated campaign with creative and media agency Cutwater. The initiative highlights the brand’s Whole Bean line and builds on the One Small Sip for a Better Tomorrow platform previously developed by the agency.
The U.S. whole bean coffee market is projected to grow from about $8.2 billion in 2025 to nearly $13.9 billion by 2033. Against this backdrop, the new campaign positions San Francisco Bay Coffee as a family-run alternative to large-scale corporate competitors, emphasizing direct relationships with farmers, fair pay, sustainability, and exceptional flavor.
Campaign spotlights responsibly sourced whole beans
At the heart of the campaign is a vibrantly animated film produced by Psyop and Wizz, directed by Remus & Kiki, with music and audio by Storefront Music. The creative approach mirrors the illustrative style of the brand’s previous campaign, visually distinguishing San Francisco Bay Coffee from industry giants.
Amy Su, Creative Director at Cutwater: “Big Coffee does things their way, but San Francisco Bay Coffee is family-run and family-owned. When we started to learn more about what this meant—that they have a great relationship with their farmers and how it naturally leads to higher quality beans—we knew there was a really meaningful story to tell. We used the same illustration style as last year's campaign to create that distinction from Big Coffee in an engaging and purposeful way.”
Creative contrasts family-run values with coffee giants
Jennifer Greenberg, Director of Marketing, San Francisco Bay Coffee: “Our coffee drinkers care deeply about responsibly sourced coffee and great taste. San Francisco Bay Coffee shares those values, and we’re proud to be a family-run business that has been putting farmers first since 1979. Every cup helps.”
The media plan spans linear TV, digital video, paid social (Meta and Reddit), terrestrial radio, streaming audio, digital out-of-home, and paid search. Targeting environmentally conscious coffee consumers across California, Oregon, and Washington, the campaign aims to connect with audiences who value sustainability and authenticity.
Cutwater and San Francisco Bay Coffee build brand momentum
Lizzy Ryan, Head of Media and Communications at Cutwater: “We’re excited to build upon the momentum and learnings from our first-year campaign as well as further expand our platforms to attract new converts to San Francisco Bay Coffee. We’re testing new channels like Reddit—now the top-cited domain in AI searches—to engage coffee enthusiasts and spark natural, organic conversations about the brand.”
Through this campaign, San Francisco Bay Coffee continues to deepen its commitment to ethical sourcing and storytelling, offering coffee drinkers a sustainable and flavorful alternative to the mainstream.
