Deutsche Telekom reunites Stranger Things cast for MagentaTV campaign
Deutsche Telekom has brought together the four lead boys from the original Stranger Things cast for a campaign promoting MagentaTV. Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp and Caleb McLaughlin reprise their roles as Mike, Dustin, Will and Lucas in a film that recreates the show’s atmosphere with close attention to detail.
The Everything In One Place campaign, created with adam&eveDDB London and Berlin, runs across TV, VOD, radio, outdoor and social channels. The work positions MagentaTV as the home where audiences can find all their favourite entertainment worlds in one destination.
Campaign recreates iconic Stranger Things settings
The TV commercial opens in Mike’s basement as the group builds a machine designed to stream “infinite hours” of classic ‘80s fight scenes to help them prepare for a final confrontation in the Upside Down. The concept contrasts the effort required to access content in the ‘80s with the ease of streaming through MagentaTV today.
Production design was led by Sean Brennan, the original set designer for the series, who recreated four key interiors and revealed a previously unseen section of Mike’s basement. Cinematographer Lachlan Milne, who worked on Seasons 3 and 4, shot the film to capture the lighting, framing and cinematic tone associated with the show.

Authentic details reinforce nostalgic world-building
The machine featured in the spot was fully built over several weeks and functioned until its scripted breakdown. The art department created more than 300 bespoke VHS titles and period-inspired artworks. Deutsche Telekom also licensed five films central to 1980s culture: E.T., Back to the Future, Alien, Commando and The Empire Strikes Back. Post-production house Katalyst worked with the Netflix production team to animate the Upside Down vines.
The ad is set to Billy Squier’s Lonely Is the Night, combined with musical elements from the series to preserve its recognisable soundscape.
Telekom integrates Stranger Things universe into its brand
To mark the partnership, Deutsche Telekom will invert its ‘T’ logo across TV, social and retail in Germany, alongside a sound logo reworked with a Stranger Things synth effect.
Michael Falkensteiner, head of marketing communications and devices, Deutsche Telekom: “We want to bring people together through great content and emotional experiences and create moments that inspire and connect in the long term. MagentaTV stands for Entertainment at its best and is the gateway to their favourite worlds of entertainment – all from a single source and in one place. This campaign boldly celebrates the Stranger Things universe, with a unique brand twist.”
Creative team reflects on honour of using beloved universe
Paul Knott, creative director, adam&eveDDB London: “Being entrusted with the Stranger Things world for this Telekom campaign, as the series approaches its epic finale, is a profound honour. The show has been a cultural touchstone, and we are keenly aware of the weight and excitement surrounding its conclusion. Our goal was to craft a campaign that captivates audiences, while respectfully celebrating the incredible legacy the Duffer Brothers created. With the help of our amazing clients and production teams, we hope we have done them proud.”
The campaign will run until 31 December across TV, VOD, DOOH, radio, social, online and POS in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Greece.
