American Family insurance expands storytelling with film series
American Family Insurance is expanding its storytelling strategy with a branded content series designed to reinforce the role the insurer plays in helping people feel protected as they pursue their ambitions.
The platform Insure carefully. Dream fearlessly. has supported the brand’s relationship with customers for years, and the series builds on that foundation with a focus on multigenerational impact.
The five-episode series Dream Fearlessly presents a narrative that spans three generations, illustrating how protection supports both present realities and future aspirations. Each episode explores family dynamics and the small, everyday moments that shape long-term dreams.
A multigenerational narrative
The films will be released on YouTube starting November 17. The episodes include:
Legacy — A father steals moments with his children across decades, showing that long-term dreams grow from daily interactions.
Home Team — His daughter, now an adult, juggles parenting and work while encouraging her son’s ideas.
Go to Sleep — Her children whisper in the dark about the futures they imagine.
Generations — The son first introduced in Legacy is now a parent himself, guiding his toddler through early dreams.
A Dream of Next — The concluding episode connects all storylines with a broader cultural lens focused on continuity, resilience and the American Dream.
Together, the episodes emphasise that dreaming extends beyond individuals; it shapes what families pass on to the next generation.
Strengthening the brand’s emotional positioning
Sherina Smith, CMO, American Family Insurance: "American Family Insurance is more than a protector of what people own. We are a partner in the dreams and futures they build. With the Dream Fearlessly series, we deepen the emotional resonance of protection, spotlighting the heart of our brand and inviting people to dream fearlessly. Building on our legacy of trust and longevity, it positions American Family as the brand that safeguards what matters today while fuelling ambition for tomorrow."
Beginning November 17, audiences will discover the series through trailers across paid social and online video that direct viewers to the full films on YouTube.
Elite Media leads creative development
Elite Media, the insurer’s creative agency partner, developed the series.
Jindai Joseph, executive creative director, Elite Media: "Part of the reason we went beyond traditional ad units in favour of longer films was to put our collective humanity on full display in this series. By sharing these stories, the brand hopes to empower people to celebrate the small moments of dream achievement–both personal and generational–in their own lives. The Dream Fearlessly series highlights the beauty of what we share and the power of the dreams that American Family Insurance protects."
