Airalo campaign explores connected travel
The campaign marks Airalo’s largest global marketing initiative to date
Airalo has launched Connection Means The World, a global brand campaign focused on how mobile connectivity shapes more authentic travel experiences. Created by Stink Studios and directed by Traktor, the campaign positions connectivity as a tool for discovering local culture rather than simply a travel convenience.
The campaign marks Airalo’s largest global marketing initiative to date and will run across TV, VOD, digital and social channels in markets including the US, Canada, the UK, Italy, Germany, France, Brazil and Mexico.
Campaign focuses on local travel experiences
The campaign follows a traveler named Alice as she moves through Pisa, Paris, Tokyo, Berlin and a beach in Thailand. Each location transitions seamlessly into the next, illustrating the role connectivity plays in helping travelers navigate new places and connect with local experiences.
According to Airalo, the campaign reflects a broader shift in travel behaviour, with consumers increasingly seeking experiences beyond traditional tourist routes. The company said connectivity enables travelers to discover local venues, navigate unfamiliar environments and engage more directly with communities and culture.
Shelly Pearce, Chief Growth Officer, Airalo: "The moments that make a trip are rarely the ones in a guidebook; they're a conversation with a stranger, the hidden bar that becomes your favorite night out, the local cafe you'd never have found without slowing down and zooming in on your maps. Connectivity is what unlocks all of that. 'Connection Means The World' is the boldest expression of what Airalo means to the travelers it was built for."

Airalo currently serves more than 30 million travelers across more than 200 destinations worldwide.
Stink Studios and Traktor lead production
The campaign was developed by Stink Studios, with direction from creative collective Traktor. Production recreated locations including Pisa, Paris and Tokyo inside a Bangkok studio, while a Berlin nightclub set was constructed on a remote beach in Thailand.
One of the campaign’s final scenes features the nightclub structure collapsing in a single take, revealing the beach landscape behind it.
Kat Thomas, Creative Director, Stink Studios: “We no longer switch off on holiday by turning off our phones, they make the whole travel experience more effortless and enjoyable. Whether we’re picking up the local language, choosing the best places to eat, or finding someone to hang out with, having Airalo on our phones keeps us tethered to what really matters, and provides an instant connection to people and culture that quite literally and figuratively means the world.”
Production avoids AI-generated visuals
The production team stated that all visuals in the television commercial were filmed in-camera without the use of CGI or AI-generated imagery. The approach was intended to reinforce the campaign’s focus on human connection and physical experiences.
Hannah Lynd, Head of Production at Stink Studios: “Recreating different parts of the world authentically was a huge production challenge; the number of references the team worked from was pretty incredible. There were also some really significant challenges, particularly building the wall of the Berlin Nightclub and ensuring it could come down safely and in camera. The first time it worked, everyone cheered."
The campaign launched on May 26 and is scheduled to run between six and 12 weeks depending on the market. Additional out-of-home advertising assets are set to launch in June.
