New eBook explores financing and communication in health

FINN Partners has published Shaping the Future of Global Health: Collaboration, Resilience, and AI in an Evolving Ecosystem, an eBook bringing together international leaders to explore the future of health systems. The publication examines how collaboration, artificial intelligence, and new financing models are shaping responses to global health challenges.

Contributors include Dr. Seth Berkley, former CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; Dr. Ken Rabin, global health communications expert; and Jeffrey Sturchio, chairman of Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, TB and Malaria. The book also features perspectives from authors across Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas, with an introduction by E J Ashbourne, Executive Director of the Partnership for Quality Medical Donations.

From crisis response to anticipatory systems

The eBook argues that health systems must move beyond reactive crisis management toward anticipatory, technology-enabled models. These systems, capable of predicting risks and preventing outbreaks, are positioned as essential for both economic and social stability.

Mark Chataway, Managing Partner, FINN Partners and co-author: "By capturing examples from Africa, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, we wanted to show how innovation and collaboration can translate into stronger, more equitable health systems."

Financing health with measurable results

The publication highlights the rise of outcome-based payments, risk-sharing agreements and blended finance as alternatives to traditional aid. These mechanisms aim to drive accountability and ensure that investments deliver measurable improvements in health outcomes.

Richard Hatzfeld, Senior Partner, FINN Partners and co-author: "These new approaches to financing are being tested in real-world settings. By tying investment to measurable results, health leaders can unlock accountability and sustainability, ensuring that resources drive real, lasting change."

Communication as a health imperative

The role of communication is presented as central to the success of health initiatives, from vaccine uptake to climate resilience. Contributors argue that trusted and consistent messaging can determine whether policies succeed or fail.

Christopher Nial, Senior Partner, FINN Partners and co-author: "Health is a narrative issue, not just a policy one. If we fail to communicate effectively, we risk losing the trust and engagement vital to advancing policy, mobilizing resources, and achieving impact."

Gil Bashe, Chair Global Health and Purpose, FINN Partners: "As communicators and advocates, we are responsible for elevating health on the world’s agenda. This eBook reflects the voices of leaders advancing policy, innovation and collective action. It calls for business, government, and civil society to work together to build a healthier, more resilient world."
