Turo campaign explores changing driving needs

Car rental company Turo has launched a campaign focused on changing consumer attitudes toward car ownership, positioning flexible vehicle access as an alternative to long-term leases and ownership. Created with independent creative agency L&C, the campaign promotes Turo Monthly through a film that explores how changing life circumstances can influence driving needs.

The campaign centers on a comedic film following a protagonist navigating unexpected life developments, from relationships to parenthood and shifting routines. Each stage is paired with a different vehicle, reinforcing the campaign’s message that drivers can adapt their car choices as their lifestyles change.

Turo highlights long-term rental flexibility

Turo said the campaign aims to present car rental as a flexible option for consumers seeking access to vehicles without fixed ownership commitments.

David Corns, Chief Marketing Officer at Turo: “Turo is reinventing car rental. More people need a car beyond a single trip but don’t want the burden of ownership or a fixed lease. Turo Monthly offers a simple, flexible way to get the right car for as long as it fits their life. The car you need, without the commitment.”

The campaign positions Turo Monthly as an option for consumers whose vehicle needs may change over time. Turo said its platform includes hundreds of thousands of vehicles across different categories and price points, allowing users to select vehicles based on evolving requirements.

L&C focuses campaign on changing lifestyles

L&C developed the campaign around the idea that life changes quickly and transportation needs often shift alongside it.

Rolando Cordova, Co-Founder & CCO at L&C: “Our idea was to highlight the flexibility Turo offers by dramatizing a simple truth: life can change quickly, and so do your needs – especially when it comes to your car. With Turo Monthly, you can adapt just as easily, switching cars as your life evolves.”

The campaign will run across Turo’s key international markets, including the US, Canada, Australia, France and the UK. Media placements include digital, social, connected TV and out-of-home advertising positioned near car dealerships.

Campaign reflects changing views on ownership

Additional executions tailored for specific platforms will feature different life scenarios and vehicle choices while maintaining the campaign’s central theme around flexibility and access.

The campaign reflects broader shifts in consumer behavior, as mobility platforms increasingly position access and adaptability as alternatives to traditional ownership models.
