Scania launches "It's Just Special" global campaign to enhance the power of pride, connection and belonging
Global transport solutions provider Scania, has unveiled its latest worldwide brand campaign, titled "It's Just Special," moving past technical specifications to tap into a deeper sense of community, pride, and belonging felt by its drivers and customers. The campaign centers on the emotional connection to the brand - a feeling often described as unmistakable, yet difficult to articulate.
At the heart of the campaign is a cinematic film that eschews conventional product marketing in favour of a powerful narrative. The short feature tells the story of two brothers waiting in a desolate desert landscape for a delivery they implicitly trust, underscoring the brand loyalty that defines the Scania community.
The film’s emotional core is amplified by a custom-recorded cover of Avicii's Hey Brother, featuring vocals by rock icon Bryan Adams. This blend of story, sound, and evocative imagery is designed to resonate with thousands of professional drivers globally who view their profession - and their choice of truck - as an intrinsic part of their identity.
The campaign seeks to express the subtle confidence of a driver concluding a challenging haul or the silent, knowing nod exchanged between two strangers who share the Scania affiliation. It's a connection, the company suggests, that transcends simple ownership and becomes a mark of professional pride.
Patrik Thärnå, Head of Marketing Communications, Scania: "There's a feeling that's hard to describe, but unmistakable to those who've experienced it. It's in the way drivers talk, in the pride they take in every journey. With this campaign, we wanted to capture that feeling and reflect it to the people who already carry it with them."
The "It's Just Special" campaign is set for a comprehensive global rollout across a wide range of digital channels, targeting where the Scania community interacts most. This includes major platforms like YouTube, Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn, as well as connected TV networks and key influencer partnerships.
Crucially, the campaign strategy emphasizes authentic engagement, utilizing stories and testimonials from the Scania community itself. Additional behind-the-scenes content and customer-driven narratives are planned to extend the story’s lifespan and deepen its emotional impact, inviting viewers not just to observe, but to participate in the Scania world.
By focusing on the pride and shared identity among its users, Scania aims to cement its status as more than just a truck manufacturer, positioning the brand as a source of professional and personal connection within the global transport industry.
