MilkPEP serves zombies a taste of whole milk
The premise is that the healthy fats in whole milk support children’s brain development, making their brains more appealing to zombies
MilkPEP is using a satirical take on personal injury advertising to promote whole milk during the back-to-school season, with lawyer John Morgan pitching his services to parents of children who drink the beverage.
Developed with agency of record GALE, the social-first campaign uses humor and zombies to highlight the nutritional role of whole milk. The premise is that the healthy fats in whole milk support children’s brain development, making their brains more appealing to zombies.
GALE turns nutrition messaging into parody
The campaign’s central film follows John Morgan, known for his personal injury law firm Morgan & Morgan, as he addresses viewers in the style of a traditional legal commercial. He outlines the nutritional benefits of whole milk before a zombie appears in the background, prompting him to deliver a tongue-in-cheek legal pitch.
The campaign connects the parody to back-to-school routines, highlighting whole milk’s healthy fats, choline, vitamin B12 and iodine. MilkPEP says including milk at breakfast can help children feel fuller for longer and support focus in the classroom, while the nutrients contribute to cognitive development.
MilkPEP targets parents during back-to-school season
Josh Braithwaite, Managing Director of Creative, GALE: "New sneakers and laptops are cool, but we think what's inside the lunchbox deserves the spotlight when it comes to back-to-school. We took sound logic—the healthy fats in whole milk support kids’ brain development—and added humor, zombies, '90s-inspired creative, and a partnership with John Morgan to ‘get you the compensation you deserve’ to keep whole milk top-of-mind in an unexpected way."
The campaign launched across social media on August 25, supported by a dedicated website and MilkPEP’s GonnaNeedMilk.com platform and social channels. Parents can also visit HEY-MILK.com through August 31 to receive compensation in the form of a free T-shirt.
John Morgan fronts social-first milk campaign
For MilkPEP, the campaign aims to maintain whole milk’s relevance among parents during the back-to-school period by combining nutritional messaging with an unexpected spokesperson and a recognizable advertising format.
Miranda Abney, VP of Consumer Marketing, MilkPEP: “Back-to-school is an incredibly busy time for parents, so we wanted to deliver our message in a way that’s hard to ignore. Partnering with John Morgan let us use humor to remind parents that whole milk is an affordable, nutritional fridge staple.”
GALE developed the campaign to turn a straightforward nutrition message into a social-focused piece of content designed for sharing and cultural relevance.
