[Interview] Eva Rausch, Managing Director Europe, GUT

GUT is an independent ad agency which has a global presence with offices in Miami, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Toronto, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Madrid, and New York.

The agency has positioned itself as a courageous and transparent full-service creative network, specializing in advertising, marketing, and communications.

Eva Rausch is the Managing Director for Europe. In this interview she explains her vision for the European market, her plans to tailor GUT’s global creative solutions to resonate with the diverse European audience and the trends shaping the industry.

With over 20 years in the industry, you’ve built a reputation for driving transformative growth. How do you plan to leverage that experience in your new role as Managing Director for Europe at GUT?

GUT has experienced explosive growth since it was founded in 2018, and we are just getting started. The growth and momentum of the network is one of the things I’m most excited about going forward. My role will focus on capitalizing on all the incredible opportunities ahead, leveraging my experience helping global brands and agencies face new challenges and drive results. For me, a key element in achieving this is continuing to fuel company culture. In my experience, if a team works as one with the same values and goals in mind, the agency and the clients will succeed and grow.

At GUT, our priorities are people first, work second, and clients third because we recognize that if our people are happy, they will deliver outstanding work that drives results, and if they do that, our clients will be happy. This people-first approach is one of the key reasons I joined the agency. We are incredibly ambitious, and with the combination of the two offices in Europe, we can offer a unique blend of talent, local expertise, and global perspective that is second to none.

You’ve worked with some renowned agencies like Ogilvy and Wieden+Kennedy. How has your experience at these agencies shaped your approach to leadership, particularly in creative environments?

I've had the incredible opportunity to spend my early career sharpening my skills as a business leader while developing my love for creativity and craft at those two legendary, albeit incredibly different agencies. Both experiences shaped my approach to leadership in profound ways.

Wieden+Kennedy fueled my passion for the industry by teaching me the magic of unbridled creativity—the kind that pushes boundaries and connects with people on a deeply human level. At Ogilvy, I further sharpened my business acumen, which allowed me to partner more closely with clients and build even greater trust. I also learned the importance of multiple, diverse, global points of view to build and transform massive global brands.

All of these are crucial lessons that still guide me today.

Ultimately, as I alluded to above, I believe culture plays a critical role in guiding a creative agency's success, and it is essential for leadership to create a safe and supportive environment for talent to thrive.

GUT has an unparalleled culture that was carefully and intentionally designed to embrace diversity in all its forms, fuel creativity and a love for our industry, and, importantly, deliver creatively driven business-building results. I plan to continue to expand on this strong foundation to amplify our reach further in Europe.

GUT has expanded significantly with the launch of new offices in Europe. What are the unique challenges and opportunities you see in expanding GUT’s presence further in the European market?

We have an amazing opportunity to bring our brave, creative approach rooted in our values of courage, transparency, and intuition to this incredibly diverse market. Now more than ever, clients need breakthrough creative solutions to their business challenges, delivered with agility, speed, and at scale.

As a truly global network within Globant GUT, we have all the tools in our arsenal to solve any client challenge anywhere in the world. This unique breadth of expertise and industry-driving creativity is second to none.

We are well-versed in partnering with various clients, in-house agencies, and external partners. And clients are drawn to our flexibility and agility. Our distinct local and global perspectives across our Amsterdam and Madrid offices give us a clear advantage in the region, and I am thrilled about what’s ahead.

How do you plan to tailor GUT’s global creative solutions to resonate with the diverse European audience, while maintaining the agency’s fearless, bold approach to creativity?

Tailoring global creative solutions to resonate with diverse European audiences starts with deep human insight and a sharp understanding of local culture. Our strategy and data teams are relentless in uncovering insights that tap into behavior, culture, and local nuance — and transforming them into creative fuel. That's where bold, effective work is born.

Our approach has always been to deeply immerse ourselves in each city — culturally, socially, and economically — while pushing creative boundaries and challenging conventions. Because our teams are diverse by design, they inherently understand the unique nuances of each market while keeping a global perspective. This is how we create brave work that feels hyper-local and deeply relevant while remaining globally resonant.

GUT’s fearless approach to creativity has set a new standard in the industry. In your view, what makes GUT’s creative philosophy stand out from other networks, and how do you intend to continue pushing boundaries in European advertising?

At GUT, our name is our North Star. It's a daily reminder of the kind of work we want to create: work that moves people, shapes culture, and delivers tangible business results. We want to inspire the world to follow their gut because your gut is your second brain.

GUT is a brave agency for brave clients because we know that bravery means business. In fact, recent studies by Cannes Lions and WARC have demonstrated that the most emotionally evocative work generates a mix of attention, emotion, and memories that drive commercial performance.

Our relentless focus on brave, business driving creativity, rooted in our core values of courage, transparency, and intuition, makes us different—and it's why our work consistently stands out.

As the new Managing Director for Europe, what is your vision for the agency’s future in the region? Where do you see GUT in the next three to five years, and what are your key priorities in achieving that vision?

My vision is to make GUT the most diverse, creative, and influential network in Europe. I believe that when people thrive, creativity thrives—and when creativity thrives, business grows. So, I must continue to build a diverse, inclusive workplace where top talent from all backgrounds feel empowered to do the best work of their lives.

But just as important, I want our teams in GUT Amsterdam and GUT Madrid to have a lot of fun — because we believe the quality of the work is directly proportional to the amount of fun we’re having. When people feel free, supported, and inspired, the work becomes braver, smarter, and more impactful.

In your view, which emerging technologies and trends will most impact the future of the industry and why?

There is no doubt AI, immersive experiences (AR/VR), and the evolving creator economy will have the most significant impact. AI is transforming content creation and personalization. Immersive experiences are redefining brand engagement. The creator economy is democratizing content creation. These technologies offer immense potential for brands to connect with audiences in innovative ways, but also require a high level of ethical implementation.
