Heathrow campaign links travel to emotion
Heathrow Airport has launched a campaign highlighting its global connectivity while focusing on the emotional impact of travel. The initiative positions the airport not only as a major transport hub but as an enabler of memorable experiences.
Created by St Luke’s, the campaign shifts attention from destinations themselves to the feelings associated with travel, aiming to inspire travellers while reinforcing Heathrow’s extensive route network.
Creative concept centres on IATA code
The campaign builds on Heathrow’s three-letter IATA code, LHR, pairing it with three-letter words that reflect travel experiences rather than destination codes. Visual executions include LHR > ZZZ, depicting relaxation by the sea; LHR > NOM, focused on food experiences; and LHR > WOW, highlighting scenic exploration.
Each execution features distinct typography designed to match the mood of the featured experience. The visuals span a range of scenarios, from leisure travel and natural landscapes to family moments, presenting a broad view of what travel can offer.

Media rollout across channels
The campaign runs across out-of-home and digital channels throughout the year, supported by media planning from Wavemaker, part of WPP. The rollout includes multiple creative variations tailored to different contexts and audiences.
Meenal Varsani, Head of Marketing, Loyalty and Customer Engagement: "Being the world’s most-connected airport is something we’re incredibly proud of, but connectivity is only meaningful because of what it enables. With this campaign, St Luke’s reframes Heathrow’s network not just as a map of destinations, but as a gateway to the moments that stay with you long after you’ve landed."
Rich Denney, Joint Chief Creative Officer, St Luke's: "This new campaign is about more than destinations, it’s about the feeling of what comes next. And as the UK’s most connected airport, there’s nowhere other than Heathrow where you can reach such a breadth of experiences or emotional possibilities."
