Coca-Cola unveils America’s 250th anniversary campaign

The Coca-Cola Company has introduced a year-long campaign to mark the United States’ 250th anniversary, combining packaging, creative work and community initiatives across 2026.

As an official partner of the anniversary programme, the brand aims to highlight local communities and national identity through a coordinated rollout spanning product design, storytelling and on-the-ground engagement.

Commemorative packaging and creative platform

At the centre of the campaign is a series of limited-edition products, including collectible mini-cans featuring designs representing all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. The packaging connects to digital experiences, offering consumers access to rewards and competitions through product interaction.

The campaign is supported by a creative platform titled Drink in America, which focuses on everyday moments and shared cultural experiences across the country.

Stacy Jackson, Vice President of Coca-Cola Trademark, North America: "For nearly 140 years, Coca-Cola has been part of the American experience. From our collectible America250 mini-cans to our community outreach initiatives, our goal is to uplift Americans throughout every zip code and create optimism for the future."

Building on historical brand presence

The initiative draws on Coca-Cola’s historical association with major moments in US culture, including wartime support efforts and previous national celebrations. The company positions the campaign as a continuation of its role in reflecting and connecting communities.

Stacy Jackson: "Coca-Cola has always reflected the times we live in while helping bring people together. This milestone is an opportunity to celebrate where we’ve been—and where we’re going."

Community engagement and local impact

A key component of the campaign is a target to generate 250,000 volunteer hours during 2026, delivered in collaboration with local bottlers and community partners. Activities will focus on areas such as food insecurity, disaster relief, sustainability and youth programmes, alongside support for military members and veterans.

The company will also roll out Paint the Nation, a public art initiative creating murals in collaboration with local artists, designed to reflect regional culture and community identity.

Shakir Moin, President, Marketing for Coca-Cola North America: "Our America250 partnership is an open invitation for communities to participate in this historic moment. We designed this program to be inclusive and impactful. Initiatives like ‘Paint the Nation’ and our volunteer efforts empower employees, bottlers and fans to create meaningful memories and lasting contributions."

Campaign rollout across events and agencies

The campaign will run throughout 2026, with activations planned at major cultural and sporting events, including NASCAR and PGA Tour fixtures, as well as music festivals. Additional brands within Coca-Cola’s portfolio, such as BODYARMOR, Gold Peak, vitaminwater and smartwater, will also introduce themed packaging.

The work was developed by WPP Open X and led by Ogilvy, with support from agencies including Burson and VML.
