Cadbury launches campaign celebrating small acts of generosity
Cadbury Dairy Milk has unveiled its new campaign, ‘Homesick’, created by global creative agency VCCP. The film continues the brand’s long-running, IPA Effectiveness Grand Prix-winning platform, ‘There’s a Glass & a Half in Everyone’, which celebrates generosity and human connection.
Set against the neon glow of Kuala Lumpur, the story follows two sisters separated by 6,000 miles. After a call home, the older sister receives a Dairy Milk bar in an envelope—a small but meaningful gesture from her younger sibling. There’s a twist: a generous bite has already been eaten, held together by a tiny alien sticker, capturing the tenderness, humor, and relatability of sibling mischief.
Directed by Steve Rogers through Biscuit, in collaboration with VCCP’s global content studio Girl&Bear, the film continues Cadbury’s focus on emotionally resonant storytelling. Previous campaigns such as Mum’s Birthday, Fence, Bus, Garage, and Memory have similarly explored everyday acts of generosity, highlighting the human truths that connect people.
The campaign, developed by VCCP creatives Emma Jackson and Aly Lane, aims to reinforce Cadbury’s role as a “fabric-of-the-nation” brand, particularly as feelings of loneliness grow.
Elise Burditt, UK Senior Marketing Director at Mondelez: “Cadbury has always been about the humanity in all of us. This campaign shows how generosity isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being thoughtful. Even a bar of Dairy Milk with a chunk missing can carry the warmth of home.”
Chris Birch and Jonathan Parker, Chief Creative Officers, VCCP: “‘Homesick’ celebrates generosity in its most authentic, unpolished form—like when your sister steals a bite of your chocolate from the other side of the world. Rascal.”
The film will run across TV, VOD, and YouTube.
