Samsung taps Gracenote to boost AI initiatives
Gracenote, the content data business unit of Nielsen, is working with Samsung Electronics to enhance AI-driven entertainment experiences on Samsung smart TVs worldwide.
The collaboration focuses on improving content search, discovery and recommendation through structured metadata and conversational interfaces.
As the content data business unit of Nielsen, Gracenote provides program metadata and universal content identifiers that underpin Samsung’s advanced search capabilities. The integration enables viewers to find TV shows, films and sports programming through more intuitive, conversational interactions.
Enhancing discovery through structured metadata
Samsung will also use Gracenote data to curate content carousels and recommend relevant programming in lean-back viewing environments. The agreement extends beyond consumer-facing features, supporting Samsung in developing additional AI-led services and operational efficiencies.
