Purple Tree Communications secures PRCA CMS Go accreditation

Purple Tree Communications has become the first agency in the UK to secure PRCA CMS Go accreditation, a best-practice standard created for small public relations agencies.

The independent, female-founded agency achieved the recognition shortly after the Public Relations and Communications Association introduced CMS Go as a tailored version of its Communication Management Standard for agencies with ten or fewer employees.

CMS is the only globally recognized best-practice accreditation for PR and communications agencies

Developed by the PRCA, the Communication Management Standard assesses agencies across nine areas, including leadership and communication, business planning, financial management, client satisfaction, people management, campaign delivery and equity. The framework is designed to ensure agencies operate with consistent quality, accountability and ethical standards.

CMS Go applies the same principles while reflecting the operational realities of boutique agencies. The accreditation aims to support smaller firms in demonstrating robust governance and professional practice without compromising on rigour.

PRCA positions CMS Go as a benchmark for small agencies

Carol Magill, Head of PRCA CMS: "Congratulations to Purple Tree Communications and thank you to Natalie and her team for helping pilot this new approach to our accreditation. Their commitment to excellence and transparency has not only strengthened their business but also set a new benchmark for small agencies across the UK. As the first CMS Go-accredited agency, they are leading the way in showing that size is no barrier to world-class practice."

Purple Tree Communications works as a specialist consultancy supporting organizations in the infrastructure sector. The agency completed a detailed self-assessment covering more than 35 operational areas as part of the CMS process.

Accreditation highlights standards for boutique consultancies

Natalie Geraghty, Director of Purple Tree Communications: "CMS Go proves that being small has never limited our ambition or the quality of our work. This accreditation shows the industry that excellence isn’t exclusive to large agencies; it’s driven by values, standards, and the determination to deliver outstanding results, no matter your size.

As a small specialist consultancy that supports businesses within the infrastructure sector, it can sometimes feel like the work we do behind the scenes goes unseen. CMS Go has changed that and recognizes that smaller teams can deliver work every bit as rigorous, ethical, and impactful as the biggest players in our industry."

According to industry data, the UK is home to more than 5,800 PR agencies, with nearly 90 percent employing fewer than ten people. The PRCA views CMS Go as a way to strengthen standards across the sector and build trust between agencies, clients and stakeholders.
