FINN Partners takes on Textron Aviation media relations
The partnership will focus on tier 1 media relations around the Special Olympics Airlift and other key Textron Aviation programmes. The agency will work to highlight the role of the aviation community in supporting athletes, volunteers and wider community initiatives.
The Special Olympics Airlift is described as the world’s largest peacetime airlift. In June 2026, the initiative brought together Cessna and Beechcraft business aviation communities to transport more than 800 athletes and coaches to the 2026 Special Olympics Games at no cost to the participants.
Special Olympics Airlift generates national media coverage
Volunteer pilots and aircraft owners donated their aircraft, fuel and time to remove travel costs and logistical barriers for the athletes. FINN Partners supported the initiative with media relations focused on volunteerism, the coordination involved in the operation and the athletes taking part.
Karli Barokas, Managing Partner, FINN Partners: "We built our aviation practice on the principle that behind every flight there is a human story that connects us all. Textron Aviation’s commitment to community offers an incredible canvas for meaningful storytelling. Our team was proud to amplify the voices of the athletes, pilots, aircraft owners and employees who make this monumental Airlift possible."
FINN Partners highlights general aviation’s human impact
The Special Olympics Airlift generated nearly 120 media stories and almost 2 billion media impressions in June, according to FINN Partners. Coverage in USA TODAY and The Associated Press brought the initiative to a national audience.
The media coverage focused on the athletes, volunteer pilots and aviation organisations involved in the Airlift, while also highlighting Textron Aviation’s role in supporting the programme. FINN Partners will continue providing communications support as part of its wider relationship with the aviation company.
