Colangelo lands Finger Lakes PR account
The partnership will focus on increasing national awareness of the region through public relations, media engagement and industry events
Colangelo & Partners has been appointed agency of record for the Finger Lakes Wine Alliance (FLWA), taking responsibility for raising the profile of New York's Finger Lakes American Viticultural Area (AVA) among trade, media and wine consumers.
The partnership will focus on increasing national awareness of the region through public relations, media engagement and industry events designed to showcase the Finger Lakes as a cool-climate wine destination.
Agency to lead communications strategy
As part of the appointment, Colangelo & Partners will develop campaigns highlighting the region's wineries, winemakers and wine styles, while strengthening relationships with trade and media.
A key element of the programme will be the FLX Media Summit, an immersive media tour featuring winery visits, guided tastings, educational masterclasses and experiences across the region. The initiative will showcase varieties including Riesling, Cabernet Franc and traditional-method sparkling wines, alongside the region's hospitality and sustainability efforts.
Alliance aims to expand national profile
Amy Navor, Executive Director, Finger Lakes Wine Alliance: "The Finger Lakes has an extraordinary story to tell, and we're thrilled to partner with Colangelo & Partners to help bring that story to a broader national audience. Together, we'll deepen our relationships with trade and media while continuing to elevate the visibility, reputation, and long-term success of the Finger Lakes AVA."
The Finger Lakes Wine Alliance said the partnership forms part of its strategy to strengthen the region's reputation and build long-term engagement with the wine trade and media.
Colangelo & Partners adds regional wine client
Michelle Erland, Junior Partner and Vice President of the Domestic Division, Colangelo & Partners: "We are thrilled to welcome the Finger Lakes Wine Alliance to our portfolio of clients during our 20th anniversary year. Partnering with such a dynamic organization in our own backyard makes this collaboration particularly meaningful. As the Finger Lakes continues to solidify its standing as a world-class cool-climate wine region, we are honored to help amplify its story and champion its ongoing success."
The organisations said they will work together on long-term communications and advocacy initiatives aimed at maintaining the Finger Lakes' presence in national conversations around American wine.
