MotoGP selects Accenture for 2027 streaming platform
The collaboration will use Accenture’s technology and sports streaming capabilities to enhance the fan experience, expand content options and create additional ways for audiences to engage with MotoGP.
MotoGP Group has selected Accenture to develop the technology behind its next direct-to-fan OTT offering, with the platform scheduled to launch during the 2027 MotoGP season.
The platform will bring MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and World Superbike together under a single technology architecture while allowing each property to tailor its experience to its audience.
Accenture platform to support MotoGP streaming
Accenture Media Engage, formerly known as Accenture Video Solution, will provide the technology for MotoGP’s OTT transformation. The platform is designed to support faster deployment, flexibility and automation, allowing MotoGP to launch and optimize digital experiences across regions and personalize them at scale.
Media Engage is part of Accenture Media Suite, a portfolio of AI-powered media solutions that Accenture is launching at IBC. The suite is designed to support audience engagement, monetization and media operations across the value chain.
Gorka Llort Igal, Digital Business Director, MotoGP Group: "MotoGP has always been defined by innovation, pushing the limits of what's possible both on and off the track. As we continue to grow our global audience, we're focused on creating a direct-to-fan experience that matches the excitement, emotion and intensity of the world's most exciting sport. Through our collaboration with Accenture, we're building a platform that will bring fans closer to the action than ever before, with more personalization, deeper insights, greater interactivity and richer content."
MotoGP plans multi-camera and interactive viewing
The service will offer fans multi-camera viewing, customizable race coverage and live sports data integrated into livestreams. Further updates are planned to add immersive features intended to bring viewers closer to the action.
MotoGP and Accenture will also work with Accenture partners, including AWS, to explore additional ways for fans to consume content, increase engagement and improve connectivity at circuits.
John Peters, Global Media & Entertainment Lead, Accenture: "MotoGP has a clear vision for how it wants to evolve its direct-to-fan experience and create new sources of value around the sport. As sports organizations build deeper, more direct relationships with fans, the opportunity lies in bringing together audience engagement, content and monetization on a connected platform that can continually evolve with changing fan expectations. By combining MotoGP’s deep understanding of its fans and the sport with Accenture’s Media Engage platform and experience building and operating media platforms at scale, we can help create the foundation for the next generation of direct-to-fan experiences."
New OTT platform targets global MotoGP audiences
The unified architecture is intended to give MotoGP a common technology foundation across its properties while supporting market-specific experiences. The approach will also allow the organization to adapt content and digital features to changing audience requirements.
The 2027 launch will mark the next stage of MotoGP’s direct-to-fan strategy, combining streaming, live data, personalization and interactive features within a single platform.
