Global programmatic advertising market to reach $4.3 trillion by 2032, report

The global programmatic advertising market, valued at USD 833.16 billion in 2024, is projected to grow to USD 4,397.68 billion by 2032. This is according to a recent report by  This represents a compound annual growth rate of 23.21 percent over the forecast period from 2025 to 2032.

Growth is being driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning, which are transforming how businesses buy and manage digital advertising. Automated platforms now allow marketers to optimize campaigns in real time, personalize content and streamline bidding processes.

U.S. leads, Asia Pacific accelerates

The U.S. market was valued at USD 197.22 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 1,027.79 billion by 2032. Its expansion is fueled by widespread mobile adoption, demand for personalized campaigns and increasing reliance on AI-driven platforms.

Globally, North America held a 33 percent market share in 2024, supported by advanced digital infrastructure and high ad-tech adoption. Asia Pacific, however, is expected to be the fastest-growing region with a projected CAGR of 25.08 percent, driven by smartphone penetration, e-commerce expansion and rising internet connectivity. China dominates in scale, while India and Southeast Asia are emerging as high-potential markets.

Retail and entertainment drive adoption

Retail and consumer goods represented 34 percent of the global market in 2024, with brands leveraging real-time targeting and customer data to boost conversions. Media and entertainment is forecast to grow at the fastest CAGR of 25.95 percent, supported by increasing digital content consumption across streaming services, gaming and OTT platforms.

In terms of ad formats, video led with a 24 percent revenue share in 2024, thanks to its strong engagement rates and measurable returns. Image-based formats are expected to expand at the fastest pace, with a CAGR of 24.56 percent, particularly on mobile-first platforms and social media.

Channels and auction models

Mobile and tablets accounted for half of the market in 2024, driven by mobile-first content and location-based targeting. Connected devices, including smart TVs, wearables and voice assistants, are expected to grow at a CAGR of 25.15 percent, offering advertisers new programmatic opportunities.

Real-time bidding remained the dominant auction model with 42 percent share in 2024, but private marketplaces are projected to grow at 25.99 percent, reflecting increased demand for brand-safe and transparent environments.

Technology leaders continue to shape the market. In 2024, Google Ads introduced generative AI features at DMEXCO, enhancing customization and control for advertisers. In 2025, Meta Platforms announced plans to launch fully autonomous AI-powered ad creation across Facebook and Instagram by 2026.
