Carlsberg opens IT Global Capability Centre in India

Carlsberg Group has established its first IT Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Gurugram, marking a key step in its digital transformation strategy. The centre positions India as a central hub for the brewer’s technology development and global operations support.

The GCC will provide managed IT services, infrastructure operations, and application support for Carlsberg’s worldwide network. Set up in partnership with IT services company GSPANN, the centre is designed to leverage India’s talent pool and strengthen the company’s digital foundation.

Digital backbone for Carlsberg’s global growth

Esther Wu, CIO, Carlsberg Group: "Carlsberg Group’s long-term growth strategy, Accelerate SAIL requires building speed, agility, innovation, and leadership into everything we do. The launch of our first Global Capability Centre in Gurugram marks a critical milestone in that journey."

She added: "With India’s exceptional technology talent and GSPANN’s support, this centre will help us strengthen our IT backbone, accelerate digital transformation, and embed new capabilities into our global operations. Beyond technology, this GCC reflects our commitment to building resilience and sustainability, ensuring we are better prepared to serve our customers, partners, and employees across more than 150 markets."

Focus on automation and scalability

The GCC will drive automation, enterprise standardization, and efficiency under a build-operate model. Carlsberg will retain strategic control of the centre while GSPANN oversees operations, talent expansion, and service delivery.

Anurag Pandey, CTO, Carlsberg Group: "This GCC gives us the ability to unify our IT landscape and scale it globally. Our focus will be on building agile technology processes that enable faster go-to-market, smarter use of data, and secure, enterprise-grade operations across our footprint. With GSPANN’s expertise in managed services, digital transformation, and data engineering, the GCC will be a growth engine that powers faster innovation, smarter use of technology, and secure operations across Carlsberg’s global footprint."

Partnership with GSPANN

AP Grover, Co-Founder and President, GSPANN: "A GCC should not just run operations, it should shape the future. At GSPANN, we design GCCs as transformation engines. With Carlsberg, we are building a digital hub that fuses scale, speed, and sustainability – raising the bar for what global enterprises can achieve from India."

While the centre is based in Gurugram, Carlsberg will also build a supporting team at GSPANN’s Hyderabad office to access specialized skills and ensure flexibility in scaling.
