Hearst advances ad tech with AURA IQ launch
AURA currently supports one in three Hearst Magazines advertising campaigns
Hearst Magazines has introduced AURA IQ, an AI-powered extension of its proprietary audience platform AURA, designed to help advertisers and marketers develop media strategies and audience plans using first-party data, editorial insights and real-time intelligence.
The platform, which will make its debut at Cannes later this month, adds an agentic intelligence layer to AURA, enabling the analysis of campaign briefs and the creation of tailored audience recommendations and media strategies at scale.
AI layer expands AURA capabilities
According to Hearst Magazines, AURA IQ combines AI-driven analysis with human oversight to transform requests for proposals (RFPs) into actionable media plans. The platform analyses first-party data alongside contextual and behavioural signals to generate audience and campaign recommendations in real time.
AURA currently supports one in three Hearst Magazines advertising campaigns and serves as a core component of the publisher’s advertising technology infrastructure. AURA IQ extends those capabilities by introducing automation and real-time intelligence to audience planning and campaign activation.
Focus on strategy and audience activation
Lisa Ryan Howard, Global Chief Revenue Officer, Hearst Magazines: "AURA IQ represents the evolution of AURA from a powerful targeting capability into an intelligent media engine. This agentic platform allows us to build recommendations in a faster, smarter, more automated fashion and allows us to uncover real time trends, anticipate market shifts and work more strategically with marketers and advertisers."
Hearst Magazines said the platform is designed to streamline media planning workflows, surface campaign insights and support audience activation across multiple channels and environments.
Built on first-party data infrastructure
Mike Nuzzo, SVP and Head of Data Solutions and Insights at Hearst Magazines: "AURA IQ is designed to turn data-informed insights into strategy. We’re moving beyond organizing data to rapidly interpreting signals, identifying opportunities and building bespoke audiences and scalable campaign strategies that drive real business outcomes.”
The launch follows several developments for the AURA platform, including its expansion into Amazon DSP and the introduction of AURA TV, which brings Hearst audience intelligence to connected TV campaigns through Hearst Anyscreen.
AURA IQ forms part of Hearst Magazines’ broader investment in first-party data and AI-driven advertising technology, with a focus on audience addressability, campaign planning and cross-platform activation.
