Moonbug expands Little Angel with new spin-off
Moonbug Entertainment has launched Emmie’s Wonder Wardrobe, a new animated preschool series on YouTube expanding the world of its popular Little Angel franchise.
The spin-off builds on the success of Little Angel, which features characters such as Emmie and Baby John and has become one of the most widely viewed preschool brands globally, reaching audiences across multiple languages and platforms.
Expanding the Little Angel universe
Emmie’s Wonder Wardrobe centres on Emmie, a five-year-old character who uses costumes, colour and dress-up play to explore emotions and self-expression. The series combines original music, storytelling and playful scenarios aimed at older preschool audiences transitioning beyond nursery rhymes.
The show was developed following strong audience engagement with Emmie-focused episodes, including the viral “Mermaid Song”, which helped establish demand for a dedicated spin-off. The series is designed to support early childhood learning through imaginative play, repetition and music-driven storytelling.
Scarlett Barry, Creative Executive, Moonbug Entertainment: "With Emmie, we wanted to create a role model for little ones who is creative, passionate, confident, and isn't afraid to help others shine in the spotlight too. Little Angel has always championed spirited self-expression, and Emmie’s Wonder Wardrobe is a natural and sparkly extension of that vital part of early years development."
Global reach of preschool content
Little Angel has built a large global audience, with more than 150 million YouTube subscribers and 1.4 billion monthly views across 25 languages. The franchise also reaches viewers through streaming platforms including Netflix and Disney+.
Alex Tarzy, General Manager: "We’ve watched Little Angel grow into a truly global phenomenon, with massive viewership on YouTube and Netflix and incredible momentum following our launch on Disney+. We were inspired to create Emmie’s Wonder Wardrobe because of the love Little Angel fans shared for the character, and are so excited for their reaction to this new spin-off that puts her center stage."
Focus on early learning through play
The series was developed with input from early childhood learning consultants, focusing on how young children learn through imaginative play, repetition and everyday experiences. It is positioned as part of Moonbug’s wider strategy to create educational, story-led content for preschool audiences.
