La Roche-Posay turns Minions into skincare stars
The campaign links the dermatologist-recommended skincare brand with the animated franchise
La Roche-Posay has partnered with Illumination’s upcoming film Minions & Monsters for a global campaign promoting its Effaclar skincare range through entertainment-led acne education.
The campaign links the dermatologist-recommended skincare brand with the animated franchise ahead of the film’s worldwide theatrical release on 1 July 2026 through Universal Pictures.
Campaign combines skincare and entertainment
The collaboration centres on Effaclar, La Roche-Posay’s acne-focused skincare range, and aims to make dermatology information more accessible through animated storytelling featuring the Minions characters.
Titled READY, CLEAR, ACTION!, the campaign draws inspiration from the storyline of Minions & Monsters, which follows the characters as they enter 1920s Hollywood.
The partnership includes a co-branded animated campaign film developed within the visual world of the movie, featuring Effaclar products alongside the Minions characters.
Effaclar campaign targets global audiences
La Roche-Posay said the campaign responds to acne remaining one of the world’s most common skin concerns across different age groups and skin types.
Alexandra Reni-Catherine, Global General Manager at La Roche-Posay: “Skincare shouldn't require a dictionary. This partnership allows us to translate dermatological expertise into a format that is joyful, engaging and accessible, without compromising our scientific expertise.”
The campaign combines entertainment-driven storytelling with the brand’s scientific positioning in an effort to broaden audience engagement around skincare education.
Retail activity begins in July
The collaboration officially launches on 1 June ahead of the film’s cinema release in July.
In the United States, the campaign will include a limited-edition gift-with-purchase promotion at Ulta Beauty beginning 12 July, alongside limited-edition La Roche-Posay Effaclar kits available through the brand’s website and Amazon while supplies last.
La Roche-Posay said the campaign is intended to expand awareness of its Effaclar products through a global entertainment partnership connected to one of cinema’s largest animated franchises.
