Hearst UK debuts Christmas campaign for Good Housekeeping
Hearst UK has announced that Good Housekeeping UK will launch its first-ever above-the-line campaign, marking a major moment in the magazine’s 103-year history. The festive initiative promotes the brand’s multi-platform Christmas offering across print, membership, and live events — including its debut on television.
Centred on the theme Good Housekeeping Makes Christmas, the campaign celebrates the magazine’s place at the heart of the nation’s festive season. A recent brand survey found that 75 percent of women consider reading Good Housekeeping to be a Christmas tradition in itself.
Multi-channel campaign celebrates festive tradition
The campaign’s 20-second TV advert, airing on ITV from 23 October, will promote the December issue. Complementary activity will run across audio, digital display, and premium Out of Home formats within the Global network, encouraging both impulse purchases and gift memberships.
Posters on the London Underground will promote GH Live with Country Living Christmas Market, taking place from 12–15 November in London. The live event combines festive shopping, expert workshops and seasonal inspiration from Good Housekeeping and Country Living editors.
Investment reflects brand growth and audience reach
Liz Moseley, Managing Director, Good Housekeeping and the Good Housekeeping Institute: “It’s such a thrill to work on a magazine brand that is thriving – and investment of this scale underlines our confidence in Good Housekeeping’s intergenerational positioning which is resonating with customers and advertisers alike. This year we have more than doubled our digital audience, the GHI is having its biggest ever year by a country mile, and our print innovations are delivering growth in newsstand value too. This campaign will build on that success – the whole country will be having a very Good Housekeeping Christmas in 2025!”
A milestone moment for Hearst UK
David Robinson, Chief Customer Officer, Hearst UK: “This campaign marks a major milestone for the Good Housekeeping brand and Hearst UK. A Good Housekeeping TV advertising debut, after 100 years, alongside a multi-channel marketing investment for a brand in rude health. Our strategy of reaching and engaging with audiences, customers and members where they are, giving access to our content and brands on their terms, is driving unprecedented growth. None more so than on Good Housekeeping who this year, will make Christmas.”
Brand performance continues strong momentum
The Christmas campaign follows a year of significant growth for Good Housekeeping UK. According to PAMCo, the brand has seen a 52 percent increase in total audience reach, alongside 2 percent year-on-year print growth, a 3 percent rise in paid subscriptions, and a 53 percent surge in paid digital subscriptions.
Produced by Jelly with creative direction from Sarah Levitt and brand account lead Melissa Robertson, the campaign reflects Good Housekeeping’s enduring influence — and its renewed energy as a modern, multi-platform lifestyle brand.
