Harman Kardon leans into light and sound storytelling in new campaign
Harman Kardon has launched a global marketing campaign to support the rollout of its Aura Studio 5 speaker, positioning the brand’s latest product as an expression of both sound and visual design.
Developed by Havas London, the campaign highlights the model’s immersive dual light-and-sound experience while reinforcing the audio brand’s heritage in premium sound and refined aesthetics.
A 60-second hero film anchors the wider platform, using a cinematic narrative to illustrate how music can be experienced beyond audio alone.
Hero film blends music-video style with product storytelling
Directed by music-video filmmaker Dave Meyers, the film uses the analogy of moths drawn to light to dramatise the pull of the speaker’s glow and soundscape. The story follows a woman who becomes increasingly captivated by the Aura Studio 5 in her home, gradually transforming into a human moth. As she takes flight, another winged figure joins her, and the camera pulls back to reveal an apartment block illuminated in shifting colours, with other human moths moving in silhouette.
The film’s approach draws on expressive music-video language rather than traditional product advertising.
Integrated campaign spans multiple channels
The creative platform extends across broadcast VOD, connected TV, cinema, digital, out-of-home and social channels. Production was handled by Radical Media, with media duties led by Arena Media.
John Livanos, Senior Vice President of Lifestyle Marketing, Harman International: “Harman Kardon has always stood for exceptional audio quality and elegant design. With this campaign, we’re reaffirming our position as a leader in premium sound and showcasing a new way to experience music – as the music experience should be seen as well as heard.”
Mark Whelan, Chairman and UK Group Chief Creative Officer at Havas UK: Mark Whelan: “We set out to elevate the product design and sound into a full-blown visual experience. It’s a really simple creative construct amped up with promo energy by the incredible Dave Meyers. Excited to get it out into the world.”
