Clash of Clans celebrates friendship in Valentine’s campaign

Clash of Clans is celebrating friendship this Valentine’s Day with a campaign that adapts romantic comedy tropes to highlight group camaraderie in the game. The initiative, created by DAVID New York, positions the game as a platform for maintaining bonds among friends, even when life and schedules get in the way.

The campaign film depicts friends reuniting through humorous reinterpretations of iconic romantic scenes. One sequence shows a group outside a friend’s window, using a phone to play game sounds and invite him back to the clan, while another has friends holding signs at a door to encourage a return to playing together. The narrative then moves in-game, illustrating characters putting aside rivalries to support each other in Clan Wars.

Celebrating connection through storytelling

Andre Toledo, Chief Creative Officer, DAVID New York: "Rom-coms have always shown us how powerful emotional storytelling can be. For this campaign, we reimagined those classic tropes to celebrate friendship and connection in a way that feels playful, heartfelt, and true to the world of Clash of Clans."

Production and release

The campaign was produced by Gravy Films, with Crobin Leo directing, and is designed to run across digital and social channels to reach the game’s community in time for Valentine’s Day.
