Ad Council launches maternal mental health PSAs
The Ad Council and Sesame Workshop have launched a new series of public service announcements focused on maternal mental health, featuring baby versions of Elmo and Cookie Monster alongside their mothers.
The campaign, part of the Ad Council’s “Love, Your Mind” initiative, encourages mothers to prioritise their mental well-being and seek support when needed. The PSAs are being released in English and Spanish through donated media placements.
Campaign highlights importance of maternal mental health
The new spots deliver the message that mothers experience emotional challenges too, and that caring for their own mental health can help them better support their children.
The campaign directs audiences to mental health resources available through LoveYourMindToday.org and ConAmorTuMente.org.
The initiative marks the latest collaboration between the Ad Council and Sesame Workshop, the non-profit organisation behind Sesame Street.
Sesame Workshop expands emotional wellbeing resources
The PSAs also form part of Sesame Workshop’s broader emotional wellbeing programme, which provides resources designed to help young children and caregivers manage everyday challenges and build resilience.
The Ad Council said the “Love, Your Mind” campaign is supported by funding from the Huntsman Mental Health Foundation and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation.
