PRCA launches Sustainability Group to raise communication standards

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has launched the Sustainability Group, expanding on earlier working groups to support responsible and transparent sustainability communications across the industry.

The new group will act as a collaborative platform for PR professionals across sectors. Its goal is to provide tools, knowledge and guidance to help organisations communicate their sustainability strategies with clarity and credibility. By sharing insights and developing best-practice frameworks, the PRCA Sustainability Group aims to strengthen standards in sustainability communication.

Platform for collaboration

The committee, made up of PRCA members, will work to establish clear commitments and ethical approaches to sustainability. It will bring together practitioners from across the industry to exchange perspectives, address complex climate-related issues and create actionable guidelines.

The group will also represent PRCA on sustainability issues and will be open to members from agencies, in-house teams and businesses of all sizes. Regular meetings are planned throughout the year to advance thought leadership and industry collaboration.

Terri Bloore appointed Co-Chair

The launch coincides with the appointment of Terri Bloore, Managing Partner of Corporate & Financial Services at FINN Partners, as Co-Chair of the PRCA Sustainability Group. Bloore also serves on the London Chamber of Commerce Environment and Green Growth Committee and chairs the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance.

Terri Bloore: "It is an honour to be asked to be Co-Chair of the PRCA Sustainability Group. In today’s complex environment it is more important than ever that the industry works together to develop clear guidelines and transparent framework to support companies at whatever stage they are at in their sustainability journey. The PR industry has a responsibility in how companies communicate current sustainability strategies and future goals. Collaboration, transparency and shared learnings must be at the heart of that. I look forward to working with industry peers to further equip PR professionals with the tools and best practices to effectively communicate sustainability initiatives clearly, confidently and credibly."

Open call for members

The PRCA Sustainability Group is open to new members from across the profession. It seeks to build a diverse and inclusive network of communications professionals committed to advancing sustainability standards.
