Protected by Mediaocean partners with Internet Watch Foundation to strengthen digital ad safety
Protected by Mediaocean has announced a partnership with the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) to bolster safeguards in the digital media supply chain and help protect children online.
The agreement integrates IWF’s intelligence datasets with Protected’s AI-powered ad verification, enabling advertisers and agencies to avoid placements near harmful or criminal content.
By embedding IWF’s continually updated data directly into its platform, Protected by Mediaocean says it can streamline campaign activation, improve reporting, and reduce wasted media spend — while ensuring investments land in brand-safe environments.
Asaf Greiner, General Manager, Protected by Mediaocean: “Verification should not only protect, but empower. This partnership with the IWF reflects our commitment to making verification smarter, faster, and more aligned with our clients’ goals. By embedding IWF’s data into our platform, we’re operationalizing safety in a way that supports both integrity and performance outcomes.”
The IWF is a global nonprofit focused on identifying and removing child sexual abuse material from the internet.
Derek Ray-Hill, Interim CEO of IWF, said: “Responsible advertising practices are essential to protecting children online. This collaboration shows how technology providers can lead with integrity and make it easier for brands to be part of the solution.”
Unified verification approach
Protected by Mediaocean differentiates itself through its tagless architecture, interoperability, and integration with Mediaocean’s wider ad tech stack, including Prisma (media management) and Innovid (ad serving and creative). The new IWF partnership adds to a roster of third-party integrations aimed at combining protection with performance outcomes.
