Carat lands Malaysia Aviation Group media brief
The appointment supports MAG's efforts to strengthen its international brand presence while delivering more data-informed marketing
Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has appointed Carat Malaysia, part of dentsu, as its global media agency of record, consolidating media and SEO responsibilities under a single strategy spanning 26 international markets.
Operating as MAG's central global media hub, Carat Malaysia will coordinate media planning and search strategy while working with local market teams and specialist partners to tailor campaigns to regional audiences.
Unified strategy across global markets
The appointment supports MAG's efforts to strengthen its international brand presence while delivering more data-informed marketing across its global network. By combining media and SEO under one agency, the aviation group aims to improve campaign consistency, agility and audience relevance across multiple markets.
The model will see global strategy managed from Malaysia, with local execution adapted to market-specific consumer behaviours and cultural differences.
Focus on traveller engagement
Bala Pomaleh, CEO, Media, dentsu Malaysia: "MAG occupies a unique position as one of Malaysia's most recognised brands internationally, representing the country on some of the world's most important routes and touchpoints. We are incredibly proud to be handed this mandate, bringing together the strength of our global capabilities and Asian heritage with deep local truths, to craft strategies that resonate across markets while staying grounded in the spirit that makes Malaysia unique. Together with MAG, we look forward to creating more meaningful connections with travellers around the world and showcasing the very best of what Malaysia has to offer."
The partnership is designed to strengthen engagement with travellers throughout their journey by combining audience insights, media planning and search capabilities within a unified operating model.
Consolidation reflects broader industry trend
The appointment reflects a wider move among international brands to consolidate media disciplines under integrated agency partners capable of managing global strategy while supporting local execution. For aviation brands in particular, aligning media, data and search is becoming increasingly important as competition for international travellers intensifies.
For Carat, the win expands its role in supporting multinational clients through a centralised hub model that combines global capabilities with local market expertise.
