SmartyPants Vitamins and Honeymoon use satire to reach families in new campaign
SmartyPants Vitamins has launched a bold comedic campaign that explores the competitive world of modern parenting.
Created in partnership with creative agency Honeymoon and director Quinn Katherman of ArtClass Content, the campaign centers on a hyper-competitive mother determined to keep her children in first place—academically and otherwise.
Set against scenes from science fairs and elementary school chess matches, the series of spots uses deadpan humor and direct-to-camera commentary to portray the silent rivalries that often play out between parents. At the heart of each ad is the hero mom who fuels her children with SmartyPants Vitamins—because, in her world, second place is not an option.
Director Quinn Katherman balances the campaign’s heightened premise with grounded performances, letting each scene unfold with a mix of restraint and absurdity. The result is a campaign that appears polished on the surface but reveals a comic undercurrent of social pressure and quiet chaos.
Quinn Katherman: "I’m grateful to the team at SmartyPants for their willingness to make something this sharp, and to Noah Clark at Honeymoon for championing the kind of bold, creative more brands should be brave enough to make. I loved the tension in this work, and it was a joy to get to craft something that looks picture-perfect on the surface but simmers with quiet chaos underneath. And Lilliana Winkworth brought it all to life with a performance that’s both hilarious and uncomfortably relatable."
The campaign’s tone stems from a creative brief that encouraged honesty, risk, and humor—qualities often missing from supplement advertising. Honeymoon’s creative leadership embraced the opportunity to push boundaries and explore the often-unspoken dynamics of parenting.
Noah Clark, Executive Creative Director, Honeymoon: "This was truly a dream creative brief. Advertising should be fun, and I credit our partners Jeff and Amy over at SmartyPants for giving us the creative freedom to land the insight, embrace the tension, and allow us to say the quiet part out loud as parents."
The campaign showcases how storytelling, humor, and sharp creative direction can set a brand apart in a crowded wellness market.
