Anatomic Denim blends art, motion and form in G-Star’s latest innovation

G-Star has presented Anatomic Denim, a jeans range designed to extend the brand’s legacy of three-dimensional construction. The line explores denim as a medium that moves with the body rather than restricting it.

Since the debut of the G-Star Elwood in 1996, the brand has worked with articulated knees, curved seams, and panel structures to create jeans that reshape conventional patterns and prioritize mobility. Anatomic Denim continues this approach by combining form and motion in new silhouettes.

New jeans inspired by anatomy and form

The Contor and The Kitoh are the first two styles in the collection. The Contor reinterprets the Arc jeans with architectural lines, twisted side panels, and a sculpted fit, offered in loose, regular, and slim versions. The Kitoh follows the body’s natural form with sculpted knee seams and volumizing darts, available in relaxed tapered and slim fits.

The range takes inspiration from the Denim Gorilla, a 3.5-meter denim sculpture developed with Darwin, Sinke & van Tongeren, specialists in fine taxidermy. The work emphasizes anatomy and structure on a large scale and reflects the artistic foundation of the collection.

Campaign directed by Jordan Hemingway

The launch is supported by a campaign from filmmaker and photographer Jordan Hemingway, who is known for his raw visual style. Hemingway captures athletes including gymnasts, dancers, and cyclists stripped of equipment to highlight movement and form. The images focus on denim’s ability to follow the body’s natural motion.

The campaign and collection were developed with creative agency longstoryshort, bringing together product design, visual storytelling, and art under one concept.
