Amazon debuts shoppable holiday gift shop on Roblox
Amazon has introduced real-world shopping inside Roblox for the first time, working with game developers The Gang to create a shoppable holiday gaming environment. The pop-up, called the Amazon Holiday Gift Shop, lets players in the US buy physical gifts through their Amazon accounts without leaving the platform.
The initiative uses Amazon Anywhere technology and marks the first marketplace on Roblox offering real-world products, featuring more than 40 items across several categories.
Amazon expands its holiday experience inside Roblox
The Gang has developed Amazon holiday worlds on Roblox for four years. This edition highlights cultural traditions from around the globe and includes quests, challenges and rewards tied to Amazon’s Every Thing for Every Holiday campaign.
Amazon’s broader Roblox presence centres on Amazon’s Great Holiday Climb, a gamified environment inspired by the retailer’s Holiday Kids Gift Book. Players join Fox and the woodland crew to construct the Holiday Traditions Tower, unlocking levels themed around celebrations including Diwali, Dia de Muertos, Hanukkah and Christmas. The experience also features mini-games and UGC items created by Amazon, The Gang and community designers such as WhoseTrade.
Real-world gifting inside Roblox gameplay
Within the world, the Amazon Holiday Gift Shop enables US players aged over 18 to purchase holiday gifts and reward-backed Robux digital gift cards directly through their Amazon accounts. Physical products from the pop-up shop, as well as Hasbro toys featured in the Holiday Kids Gift Book, appear inside the experience. Players can try reimagined versions of titles like Connect 4 Frenzy, earn UGC from brands such as Furby and access links to buy the associated products.
An in-person activation in New York City complements the digital experience, showcasing oversized items from brands including Barbie, Transformers, Elmer's and Wicked. The installation extends into Roblox, blending physical and virtual elements.
Leadership perspectives
Jo Shoesmith, Chief Creative Officer, Amazon: "Leveraging next-gen social platforms like Roblox to extend the life and interactivity with the IP we've built in these characters through our Holiday Kids Gift Book over the years has built brand love and engagement in a way not achievable through traditional channels. Leveraging our own technology like Amazon Anywhere and AWS to deepen the integration and partnership with Roblox bringing real-world commerce to life where our customers are actively engaging is an obvious next step we're excited to be leading the way on."
Max Proctor, CEO, The Gang: "Gaming has traditionally been seen as a top-of-funnel channel for marketers so it's incredibly exciting to see Amazon offering real-world commerce within its gaming environments to start proving out direct ROI for brands' gaming investments. With the scale of Amazon and the reach of Roblox, this could be a real game-changer for the medium."
The Amazon Holiday Gift Shop pop-up remains available on Roblox until January 12th 2026.
