Amazon Business hits 8 million customers globally

Amazon has announced that Amazon Business now serves more than eight million organizations globally—from small enterprises to Fortune 100 companies—cementing its role as a strategic partner in business procurement.

Excluding emerging markets, Amazon Business has become a trusted platform for 97 of the Fortune 100, 66 of the FTSE 100, and 38 of the DAX-40 companies, alongside hundreds of thousands of small businesses.

Launched in 2015, Amazon Business combines the core strengths of Amazon—low prices, broad selection, and reliable delivery—with tailored business solutions including AI-powered spend analytics, approval workflows, and access to a diverse supplier network. Today, the platform drives more than $35 billion in annualized gross sales.

Shelley Salomon, global vice president, Amazon Business: “When organizations partner with Amazon Business, they’re not just shopping—they’re streamlining their supply chain while saving time and money. From local entrepreneurs to multinational companies, we deliver what matters most: access to hundreds of millions of items worldwide, significant cost savings year-round, and more convenient delivery—helping organizations grow.”

Driving value through savings and smart tools

In the first half of 2024 alone, Amazon Business helped U.S. organizations save over $150 million through bulk purchasing discounts. Small businesses benefited significantly, with more than $70 million in global savings—$25 million in the U.S. alone.

Features like Guided Buying (which enforces purchasing policies) and Spend Analytics (providing insights into spending trends) are helping organizations reduce unplanned costs and improve efficiency.

Expanding selection to meet diverse business needs

Amazon Business now offers hundreds of millions of items, with 25% more products available globally compared to last year. Growth is especially strong in specialized sectors such as industrial, scientific, healthcare, education, and facility maintenance.

Selection from small business sellers grew nearly 80% year-over-year, with customers now able to shop more than 160 million items from SMBs worldwide.

Tools like Business Lists (curated purchasing collections) and Integrated Search (procurement system integration) streamline sourcing and compliance.

Delivery designed for businesses

Amazon Business continues to invest in fast and flexible logistics, offering same-day or next-day delivery on hundreds of millions of orders worldwide. Features such as Amazon Day for Business and palletized delivery allow organizations to consolidate shipments, save time, and reduce environmental impact.

Business Prime members collectively saved $750 million in shipping fees last year, with nearly half of all global orders arriving same-day or next-day. Enterprise members also benefit from tools like Spend Visibility, Anomaly Monitoring, and Guided Buying, while U.S. small businesses enjoy rewards, cash back, and exclusive deals.

Since its U.S. launch in 2015, Amazon Business has scaled into a strategic procurement partner across 11 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Germany, Japan, and India. By combining Amazon’s customer experience with business-specific features, it has redefined how organizations source everything from office supplies to specialized industrial equipment.
