FINN Partners acquires comms agency Honner
The addition of offices in Sydney and Melbourne increases FINN Partners' global network to 37 offices
FINN Partners has acquired Sydney-based communications agency Honner, establishing its first office in Australia and expanding its financial services communications capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region.
Following the acquisition, the agency will operate as Honner, A FINN Partners Company. The addition of offices in Sydney and Melbourne increases FINN Partners' global network to 37 offices and brings its Asia-Pacific team to around 250 employees.
Acquisition strengthens APAC presence
All Honner employees will join FINN Partners. Honner founder Philippa Honner has been appointed Managing Partner and Financial Services Practice Leader for Asia-Pacific. She will also join the regional leadership team, working with offices across Greater China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Thailand.
FINN Partners said the acquisition strengthens its financial services offering in Australia and supports the firm's broader expansion strategy across the region.
Howard Solomon, Founding Managing Partner and APAC Lead at FINN Partners: "We are extremely excited to welcome Honner to the FINN family. Australia is a key growth market in the region and one we have been looking at very carefully for years. This move further deepens our financial services expertise in APAC and gives us critical mass to support the growing demand from both local and global financial brands in the region. We are very pleased to welcome the Honner team and look forward to growing our collective presence."
Focus on financial services communications
Founded in 1997, Honner specialises in financial services and corporate communications. Its client portfolio spans banking, capital markets, wealth management, insurance, professional services, real estate, renewable energy, digital assets and technology.
According to FINN Partners, Australia has become an increasingly important market for financial services, supported by one of the world's largest pension systems and continued growth in institutional investment.
Leadership outlines expansion plans
Peter Finn, CEO and Founding Partner, FINN Partners: "From the beginning, my vision for FINN Partners has been to create a world-class agency with unmatched depth of sector expertise and integrated services to benefit clients wherever they are in the world. This acquisition builds on the momentum we've established across APAC, including last year's acquisition of RICE Communications. FINN's APAC business has grown significantly, accounting for nearly 10 percent of the firm's global fees."
Philippa Honner, Founder, Honner: "Joining forces with FINN gives us an incredible platform to progress our ambitions to be the leading marketing and communications agency supporting corporate and financial brands across APAC. We look forward to working closely with our FINN colleagues across the region and spending time with our clients to demonstrate the impact of tailored communications strategies across complex APAC markets."
Ryan Barr, Global Financial Services Practice Lead, FINN Partners: "Honner is a natural fit for FINN. Their leading position in Australia, together with our established presence across Singapore, Hong Kong, Greater China and the broader region, strengthens our ability to support clients wherever they need us most."
