Overview of job

The Group Trading Manager manages a team of Trading Managers and Execs as well as maintaining key relationships across multiple external clients throughout our OOH business, and is responsible for the following:

  • Negotiating and delivering the highest possible yield and share across our Outdoor portfolio with these two organisations
  • Delivering revenue targets
  • Owning specific client relationships
  • Ensuring the profitability of our outdoor estate
  • Supporting and developing your team

 

This role is a key management position and you will work closely with other Group Managers on the Team, Director of Trading Outdoor, Head of DAX Sales

Measures of success 

  • Revenue and product mix targets across all product lines achieved
  • Delivering Commercial Trading Agreements in line with objectives set
  • Specific client growth targets: acquisition, growth and retention
  • Scores in agency and specialist media owner surveys
  • Play a key role in supporting and coaching your team’s development needs, integration and culture as measured by internal staff survey and individual 360 feedback

 

In the first few months, you would have:

  • Build senior key relationships with multiple external clients
  • Implemented the best practice guide to Trading
  • Built a personal development plan for your direct reports
  • Found opportunities for incremental revenue growth
  • Played a key role within the Business Unit Management structure
  • Taken on OKR responsibilities

 

Responsibilities of the role

  • Collaborate with the Director to Trading and Outdoor to ensure that Global are using the inventory to its fullest potential thus improving profitability.
  • Delivering revenue targets on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
  • Taking ownership of the Outdoor budget and provide forecasting, and budget insight and analysis
  • Support and lead a trading team providing coaching and training where vital
  • Work closely with the management team on building external client relationships to ensure we all deliver outstanding service to our agencies and specialists
  • Improving profitability by delivering improved pricing and volume on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain key relationships externally to ensure we maximise all opportunities
  • Produce and implement trading strategy for the relevant specialist portfolio depending on over / under indexing areas of the business
  • Through senior contacts bring market intelligence back into the business for Global to ensure that we are ahead of the trend and have our pricing & strategy in place to achieve the best results.
  • Working with fellow Group Mangers help to deliver and implement on our OKR’s
  • Be a Global ambassador and an architect in the shaping of the new Global commercial culture as we return to the office

 

What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • An understanding of the Outdoor market
  • Attention to detail, organised with an analytical mind
  • Confident to negotiate at a senior level
  • Ability to lead, nurture and support your Trading Team
  • At least 3-4 years Trading experience in a media owner or agency
  • A sense of pride in what you do
  • Detailed knowledge of all of the Global Outdoor portfolio
  • Energy, passion and a sense of fun
