Springbok explores changing consumer brand loyalty
Springbok Agency is examining how brands can maintain customer loyalty as consumers become more willing to switch providers in response to rising prices and product shortages.
According to Springbok's webinar materials, more than 50 percent of consumers say they would switch brands when faced with higher prices or limited product availability. The finding highlights the challenges facing businesses that rely heavily on transactional incentives to retain customers.
Rather than viewing loyalty as a declining concept, Springbok believes it is changing. Consumers increasingly expect brands to provide value that extends beyond price reductions and conventional rewards programmes.
Behavioural psychology shapes modern loyalty strategies
The agency points to behavioural psychology as an important element in understanding why customers remain loyal to particular brands. By examining purchasing habits, motivations and customer expectations, businesses can develop engagement strategies that establish stronger relationships.
This approach requires brands to understand what customers value and how their experiences influence future purchasing decisions. Discounts and promotional rewards can still play a role, but they may not be sufficient to encourage long-term engagement.
Springbok is exploring these themes through a webinar titled If you want loyalty, buy a dog... or not. The session is presented by Jens Standaert, CRM Strategist, and Nell Demeestère, Practice Lead.
Customer lifetime value becomes central to retention
The webinar examines how businesses can move beyond transactional loyalty programmes towards engagement models that support customer retention and growth. It is aimed at professionals responsible for customer lifetime value, brand retention and business development.
For marketers, the changing loyalty landscape places greater emphasis on understanding the complete customer relationship. Businesses need to identify the factors that encourage repeat purchases, strengthen emotional connections and make customers less likely to switch when competing offers become available.
Springbok's position reflects a broader shift in customer relationship management: retaining customers requires more than offering incentives. Brands must demonstrate consistent value and create experiences that give consumers reasons to maintain their relationship with the business.
