Monks expands into premium sports storytelling

S4 Capital is expanding into premium documentary filmmaking with Chasing the Dream, a feature film set to stream globally on Disney+. The project focuses on the cultural and emotional impact of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Produced at cinematic scale, the documentary aims to move beyond traditional sports coverage by capturing the human stories behind the tournament, offering audiences a more intimate perspective on the global event.

A strategic move into long-form storytelling

The film is produced by Monks Film, the production arm of S4 Capital’s Monks, in partnership with New Element Media. The collaboration also involves FIFA, providing access to key moments and narratives surrounding the competition.

The production reflects S4 Capital’s broader strategy to engage with global audiences through long-form content tied to major cultural and sporting events.

Building a global production partnership

The creative team includes Fernando Sulichin and Pablo E. Bossi, both known for producing large-scale documentaries with international reach. The project aims to combine emotional storytelling with wide audience appeal, focusing on the shared experience of football fans worldwide.

Sir Martin Sorrell, Executive Chairman, S4 Capital: "Monks Film is a natural evolution of our model to capitalize on the growth of sports franchises and global branding. By joining forces with the industry's leading documentary producers, we are creating a new blueprint for high-impact storytelling on a global stage."

Global distribution through Disney+

Disney+ will distribute the documentary worldwide, positioning the film to reach a broad international audience. The platform’s global footprint supports the project’s ambition to connect with fans across different markets.

Fernando Sulichin, President, New Element Media: "The FIFA World Cup is that rare moment when the world pauses and beats as one. In collaboration with FIFA, we are capturing a global cultural moment that will resonate long after the final whistle."

Evolving storytelling around global sports events

Further details about contributors and participants will be announced as production progresses. The film is positioned to document not only the matches but also the broader cultural significance of the tournament, aligning with growing demand for storytelling that explores the emotional dimension of global sports.
