Omnicom the only gainer in week of IPA award win

The six funds followed by Marketing Report once again mostly posted losses between September 29 and October 6. Omnicom Group was the only riser, gaining 1.3 percent during the week in which the company was named Effectiveness Company of the Year at the IPA Effectiveness Awards. S4 Capital and Publicis Groupe each lost 1.5 percent.

Omnicom Group

Omnicom gained 1.3 percent, closing at $75.10. On October 1, the group was named Effectiveness Company of the Year at the IPA Effectiveness Awards 2026. The group's agencies won three golds, two silvers and three bronzes, as well as the Grand Prix and the President's Prize for Creative Effectiveness.

According to MarketBeat, eleven analysts have a hold rating on the stock, with an average price target of $99.

S4 Capital

S4 Capital lost 1.5 percent, closing at 45.50 pence. Its subsidiary Monks is now allowing AI agents to operate unsupervised for days at a time, Digiday reports. The agents write and test code for internal software projects and review each other's work. Monks is expanding the approach into social and performance marketing and plans to introduce the first client applications in early 2027.

Wesley ter Haar, chief AI and revenue officer at Monks, said: "We had coding agents that worked continuously for 36 to 48 hours without making mistakes."

Monks pays salaries and AI tokens from the same talent budget. S4 Capital has approximately 6,150 employees and cut 800 jobs over the past year.

Publicis Groupe

Publicis fell 1.5 percent, closing at €94.36. Huber Research Partners raised its price target on September 30 from €98 to €106 and upgraded its recommendation to overweight. Publicis will publish its third-quarter results on October 13.

In India, clothing company Raymond Lifestyle has consolidated its creative, media, performance marketing, CRM and technology activities with Publicis Groupe India. It is the first time in Raymond Lifestyle's 101-year history that all of its marketing has been placed with a single group. Saatchi & Saatchi India, Zenith India, Performics, PDX India and Propagate India will jointly handle the account.

According to trade publication Portada, Publicis won the accounts of PepsiCo, Microsoft and LVMH without a pitch.

WPP

WPP lost 0.9 percent, closing at 380.30 pence. IT services company Kyndryl has appointed WPP as its preferred global marketing partner.

WPP is also selling its 21 percent stake in Japanese PR agency PRAP Japan to DJE, the parent company of Edelman, for 1.27 billion yen, approximately $8 million. WPP has held the stake since 2002. PRAP Japan has 378 employees, and the transaction is expected to close by the end of October.

Dentsu Group

Dentsu lost 0.8 percent, closing at 3,511 yen. The group is joining The Angry Birds Movie 3 as a producer, alongside Rovio Entertainment, Sega and Prime Focus Studios. Dentsu is also the film's global media agency across more than 50 markets. According to Business Insider, Dentsu is contributing to the film's $66 million marketing and distribution budget. The size of the investment has not been disclosed.

Havas

Havas lost 0.8 percent, closing at €17.70. Goldman Sachs has a neutral rating on the stock with a €19 price target. The bank has concerns about growth in Havas' media business, which accounts for 38 percent of revenue and lacks scale in the United States. Goldman Sachs expects organic growth of 2.4 percent in 2026 and 2.1 percent in 2027.

Following a public tender, Havas Media Network Spain won the international tourism campaigns for Andalusia. According to Campaign, Havas Media is launching the Havas Business B2B division in the UK.
