OAAA unveils moving OOH media guide
Moving and dynamic out-of-home advertising is becoming a larger part of media planning as consumers spend more time outside the home and advertisers look for contextually relevant ways to engage audiences.
The Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAAA) has published the Strategic Guide to Moving & Dynamic OOH Media, a resource designed to help brands and agencies understand the role of moving out-of-home advertising within omnichannel marketing strategies.
The guide examines formats including transit media, rideshare advertising, vehicle wraps, mobile billboards, waterway media, experiential activations and other mobile advertising channels. It also outlines planning considerations, measurement developments and creative approaches for advertisers seeking to reach consumers while they travel, commute and shop.
Guide examines growing OOH category
According to OAAA, moving and dynamic out-of-home advertising is becoming a larger part of media planning as consumers spend more time outside the home and advertisers look for contextually relevant ways to engage audiences.
The publication explores how these formats complement traditional out-of-home campaigns while extending brand visibility across a range of everyday environments.
Anna Bager, President and CEO, OAAA: "Consumer movement has become a critical signal for marketers, and out of home continues to evolve alongside those changing behaviors. This guide provides a practical resource for brands and agencies looking to better understand the opportunities available across moving and dynamic OOH and how these formats can complement broader omnichannel media strategies."
Focus on planning and measurement
The guide covers key formats and use cases, planning considerations, audience engagement opportunities, measurement and attribution developments, and creative best practices supported by campaign examples.
OAAA says advances in location intelligence, audience measurement and attribution are making it easier for advertisers to assess the contribution of out-of-home media throughout the customer journey while delivering scale, flexibility and measurable outcomes.
Industry alliance supports standardisation
The publication was developed with support from the Moving & Dynamic Media Alliance (MDMA), which operates under OAAA to represent organisations involved in moving media.
Regis Maher, National Account Executive, do it outdoors: "OAAA is rolling out the Strategic Guide to Moving & Dynamic OOH Media. Under the leadership of OAAA, the MDMA (Moving & Dynamic Media Alliance) represents a cohesive voice for the moving media industry, acting in the best interests of our agency and client partners. MDMA goals are to increase the visibility of moving media and its effectiveness in consumer engagement. The purpose of the newly designed strategic guide is to assist in standardizing the rapidly growing media channel and to educate brands about its effectiveness and ease of buying."
The guide highlights how moving and dynamic out-of-home media can help brands engage consumers as they commute, travel, attend events and interact with their local communities, extending the reach of broader out-of-home campaigns.
