Nielsen appoints Sacha Weinberg as head of global brand marketing

Nielsen has appointed Sacha Weinberg as Senior Vice President, Brand Marketing and Strategy. She will lead the company’s global brand marketing strategy, focusing on content, social and web, brand design and events, and will report to Carole Robinson, Chief Communications and Brand Marketing Officer.

In her role, Sacha Weinberg will work with leaders across Nielsen to strengthen the company’s brand identity and develop marketing strategies aligned with its data-driven approach.

Nielsen strengthens leadership in brand marketing

Carole Robinson: "Nielsen works tirelessly to deliver the best data, so that our clients can tell their story. We’re thrilled to have Sacha help us tell our own story. It’s one built on innovation, technology and an enduring love for TV, movies, sports and audio. Sacha has a proven track record of forging successful brand strategies for the most respected companies in the world. She’s joining us at the perfect time, as we’ve built momentum around our next generation of products for TV, sports and live streaming."

Weinberg brings extensive experience in brand strategy across technology, entertainment and retail. Most recently, she oversaw global brand marketing and creative strategy for Prime Video, where she worked on customer acquisition, retention and loyalty, and drove marketing initiatives across TV, movies and live sports. She has also led marketing and strategy roles at Starbucks, Nike, Mattel and Walt Disney Home Entertainment.

Weinberg: "An exciting moment to tell Nielsen’s story"

Sacha Weinberg: "Nielsen’s legacy in audience measurement is unparalleled, and this is an exciting moment to tell its story in fresh, meaningful ways. I deeply admire Nielsen’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation – from advancing streaming and cross-platform measurement to unlocking powerful outcome insights for its clients. I’m eager to partner with this talented team to create dynamic, future-focused strategies that reflect the power of Nielsen’s data and the impact it has on the media industry every day."

Nielsen expands role in audience measurement

Nielsen continues to deliver over 100 terabytes of data daily to its clients. In early 2025, the company was accredited for Big Data + Panel measurement, following its accreditation for first-party live streaming in late 2024. Its Out-of-Home measurement now covers the entire US contiguous television population, and Big Data + Panel is being used as currency for Upfront transactions for the first time this year.

Nielsen also provides streaming TV measurement through products such as The Gauge, the Media Distributor Gauge and the Nielsen Streaming Top 10. In a typical month, the company measures more than 1 trillion minutes of viewing across streaming apps.
