Netflix nearly doubles US Upfront ad commitments

Netflix nearly doubles US Upfront ad commitments

The results reflect continued advertiser demand for Netflix’s audience, content and advertising technology

Netflix has concluded its 2026 US Upfront with advertising commitments from partners across all major agency groups, with the streaming platform reporting that ad commitments nearly doubled from last year.

The results reflect continued advertiser demand for Netflix’s audience, content and advertising technology, with brands committing to campaigns around returning series, feature films, live sports and other programming.

Netflix sees strong demand for its content

Advertisers committed to returning titles including Love Is Blind, Big Mistakes, Bridgerton, Emily in Paris, Nobody Wants This and Running Point. Upcoming feature films, including Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, also attracted interest from advertisers.

Netflix also reported strong demand for its live programming. The offering includes NFL games, WWE and MLB events, while sponsorships for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup have sold out and in-game inventory is nearly sold out.

Netflix expands programmatic advertising

The company attributed part of the momentum to its Netflix Ads Suite, which gives advertisers greater flexibility across buying, interactive formats and audience reach.

Programmatic enhancements include the CTV Marketplace and DSP-initiated deals, allowing advertisers to transact with Netflix through Google Display & Video 360, Amazon, Yahoo and The Trade Desk.

Pause Ads expand across DSPs

Netflix said its Pause Ads format is now available for programmatic buying across all supported demand-side platforms. The Netflix Ads Suite also includes AI creative tools that can generate pause ad formats from existing advertising assets.

Conversion, Reach and Audience APIs are also available to advertisers, with Netflix using AI-driven tools to optimise media buying in real time.

Interactive formats broaden advertiser options

Netflix has expanded its interactive advertising formats with Send to Phone and Frame Ads. The latter provides a single-canvas placement within an interactive ad, designed to support deeper audience engagement.

The company also received its first Media Rating Council accreditation for the Netflix Ads Suite, covering the processing and reporting of US in-stream video impressions across connected TV, mobile app and desktop web.

Netflix takes Upfront programme international

Following the conclusion of its US Upfront, Netflix plans to hold its first international Upfront events in Mexico City, São Paulo, Tokyo, London and Paris in the coming months.

The events will give the company an opportunity to present its advertising proposition and programming slate to partners across international markets.
