Landor designs McLaren's F1 team hub
The Team Hub is a mobile, multi-storey facility that serves as a central meeting point for team members, partners, media and guests
Global brand and design consultancy Landor, part of WPP, has designed two trackside environments for the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team, creating a Team Hub and Garage experience intended to strengthen collaboration, enhance hospitality and bring guests closer to the team's race operations.
The projects, which launched alongside a broader transformation of McLaren's trackside facilities, are designed to support the team's operational and commercial ambitions. The Garage experience debuted at the Barcelona Grand Prix on 13 June, while the Team Hub will travel with the team throughout the Formula 1 season.
Team Hub focuses on collaboration
Landor based the designs on the idea that while Formula 1 relies on advanced engineering and technology, team performance ultimately depends on the people behind the operation. The environments aim to reinforce McLaren's Forever Forward philosophy by highlighting teamwork, shared ambition and collaboration.
The Team Hub is a mobile, multi-storey facility that serves as a central meeting point for team members, partners, media and guests. Designed for use throughout the race calendar, it combines operational spaces with hospitality areas intended to strengthen relationships across the McLaren ecosystem.
Three-storey design supports team operations
The ground floor functions as a flexible gathering space featuring a digital entrance experience and adaptable areas for media, partners and guests. The first floor is dedicated to collaboration and focused work, with meeting rooms, driver spaces and a central staircase known as The Climb of Champions, designed to reflect Bruce McLaren's competitive mindset.

The second floor provides a hospitality environment where guests can learn more about the team's work through stories focused on innovation, teamwork and performance.
Garage experience brings guests closer to racing
Landor also redesigned McLaren's Formula 1 Garage experience to give VIP guests greater insight into the team's race operations without disrupting critical engineering activities.
The experience includes large digital displays that illustrate the people and processes involved in race performance, alongside a redesigned entrance tunnel that builds anticipation before guests enter the garage.
Experience highlights behind-the-scenes teamwork
A central feature is the Race Watch area, which combines tiered seating with integrated displays to give guests a view of both the race and the operational work taking place inside the garage. The design aims to immerse visitors in the strategy, engineering and teamwork that shape race weekends.
The projects were developed in collaboration with McLaren Racing and build partners Bischoff + Scheck, Quentor and Live Wire Production to ensure both environments can be assembled, transported and deployed efficiently across the European and international Formula 1 calendar.
Paul Chatelier, Creative Director, Landor: "Formula 1 is often framed as a story of engineering excellence. But technology only performs at its best when people do. The teams that win collaborate better, adapt faster and perform under pressure. Our creative challenge was to design environments that serve that purpose; spaces built to work as hard as the team, dismantled and rebuilt across a grueling race calendar, as relentless as the team they house."
Holly Tasker, Senior Designer, Landor: "Just like the cars on the track, every detail of the Team Hub was engineered for peak performance. By utilising progressive, sustainable materials, we minimised the physical and environmental footprint of the structure while maximising its visual impact. It stands as a physical representation of what can be achieved when creative design, sustainable thinking, and collaborative engineering come together."
Graham Sykes, Global Executive Creative Director, Landor: "At Landor, we noticed the incredible emotional energy that defines this team. As with all of our projects, we sought to bring that emotion to life in a way visitors could feel firsthand. By designing spaces that foster a true sense of belonging and channel the sheer exhilaration of McLaren, we've created a home where guests don't just visit the McLaren team, they become part of the family."
