Heineken shifts Singapore brewing to import model
Heineken will transition its Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APBS) operations to an import-based supply model, leveraging Heineken breweries across the region. The move is part of the company’s EverGreen 2030 strategy and aims to maintain Singapore as a hub for regional commercial operations, logistics, innovation, and GenAI-enabled capabilities.
Singapore will continue as the global home of Tiger Beer, with brand leadership, strategy, creativity, and R&D remaining anchored in the city-state. The country will also play a key role in Heineken’s Asia Pacific network by driving brand building, commercial performance, and innovation.
Strengthening Singapore’s regional role
Large-scale brewing at the Tuas brewery will gradually phase out by the end of 2027 to support a more flexible regional supply approach. The site will be redeveloped to enhance regional logistics and house a pilot brewery for innovation.
Heineken plans to strengthen regional logistics and customer service coordination from Singapore to key import markets. The Tuas site will be repurposed to support logistics and innovation activities, including the pilot brewery, while Tiger Beer’s global brand leadership will continue from Singapore.
Leveraging regional production and GenAI
To enable the import-based supply model, production will shift to Heineken’s established breweries in Malaysia and Vietnam. APBS in Singapore will focus on regional commercial operations, demand planning, packaging adaptation, export-market services, and innovation support.
Singapore will also remain home to the global GenAI Lab, supporting productivity and decision-making across Heineken’s worldwide operations. The company emphasized that these adjustments reinforce its long-term commitment to the country as a strategic base.
Tiger Beer’s leadership rooted in Singapore
Tiger Beer, founded and led from Singapore, will continue to be developed and shaped in the country while expanding its presence internationally. Heineken plans to gradually build Singapore-based capabilities as part of its EverGreen 2030 strategy to drive long-term growth and value.
