Gracenote appoints Bill Condon as head of ad sales

Nielsen’s Gracenote has appointed Bill Condon as its first Head of Advertising Sales, tasking him with driving revenue growth across the company’s advertising business. The role includes responsibility for accelerating adoption of Content Connect, Gracenote’s connected TV advertising platform.

The appointment comes as Gracenote expands its advertising offer to address fragmentation across streaming. Launched in December 2025, Content Connect integrates Gracenote’s content intelligence into streaming video workflows, supporting program-level targeting and monetisation for buyers and sellers.

Expanding Content Connect adoption

Content Connect is built on Gracenote’s Content ID Graph, which uses entertainment metadata and TMS IDs embedded across the connected TV ecosystem. The platform enables advertisers to apply brand suitability controls and gain transparency at programme level, while publishers can package and monetise inventory based on content quality.

Ryan Moore, Chief Business Officer, Gracenote: “This new role reflects the forward momentum of Gracenote’s advertising business — from our 2024 contextual targeting rollout and Content Connect launch to expanded reporting through partnership integrations. Bill’s experience building and monetising CTV and FAST platforms makes him the ideal leader to drive Content Connect’s commercial growth as content intelligence becomes increasingly essential to CTV advertising.”

Senior advertising experience

Bill Condon brings more than two decades of digital advertising experience across both demand and supply. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Enterprise Sales and Partnerships at Xumo, where he helped scale free ad-supported streaming TV channel technology and monetisation across major CTV platforms. His career also includes leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company, Tremor Video, Yahoo, AOL and PointRoll.

Bill Condon: “CTV advertising has reached an inflection point where scale and signal quality must advance together. Across ad buying and selling, there is a growing interest in harmonising content-level signals with audience-based approaches, yet visibility into the programming ads run in hasn’t kept pace. I’m excited to join Gracenote as we bring context into CTV transactions and make it actionable at the show level.”

Context-led CTV strategy

Gracenote’s advertising strategy centres on understanding what audiences are watching, alongside who is watching. By organising programme-level data within a structured taxonomy, the company aims to support more effective contextual targeting and improved business outcomes for CTV advertisers.
