Genie Goals releases Life Goals ecommerce campaign report

Performance marketing agency Genie Goals has published Life Goals, the second volume in its annual editorial series examining creative and effective digital marketing across ecommerce.

The report follows last year’s Home Goals and focuses on brands shaping how people spend their time outside work, from sport and crafts to reading, self care and everyday micro hobbies.

Life Goals features 75 brands, spanning global players and independent challengers, selected for work that connects with consumers’ interests beyond traditional commerce. The agency positions the book as a snapshot of how ecommerce marketing is evolving alongside changing lifestyles and cultural habits.

A framework reflecting marketing shifts

The report is structured around six themes that Genie Goals identifies as central to current ecommerce performance: Artificial Intelligence, Creative and Storytelling, Paid Media, Brand Building, Organic Campaigns and Experience. Together, these categories reflect how brands are balancing technology, creativity and customer focus.

Hundreds of campaigns were reviewed before final selections were made. Entries were assessed on smart use of technology, clarity of purpose, values, narrative strength, ethical practice and customer centric thinking. All campaigns were weighted equally, regardless of brand size, with expert judgement used to ensure less visible innovators were recognised alongside larger advertisers.

Examples from performance to purpose

Case studies include Merrell’s use of artificial intelligence to reduce product returns by up to twenty five percent through improved insights and accuracy, Castore’s personalisation strategy delivered with Klaviyo, and evo’s digital assistant designed to help customers choose technical outdoor equipment online.

The book also highlights purpose-led storytelling, featuring work from brands such as Finisterre, Patagonia and Norwich City FC. Norwich City FC’s You Are Not Alone film reached more than three hundred million viewers worldwide, demonstrating the impact of emotionally driven narratives within ecommerce ecosystems.

Positioning ecommerce as culture

Emily Long, CEO of Genie Goals: “Life Goals is our love letter to the hobbies and pastimes that make everyday life that bit richer. We wanted to shine a light on the brands creating work that feels thoughtful, joyful and genuinely useful, whether they’re global names or tiny teams doing clever things. This year’s entries show how much creativity and care still exists in ecommerce when you put people first. These campaigns aren’t just good marketing. They’re reminders of what inspires us, connects us and keeps us curious.”

Beyond individual campaigns, the report frames ecommerce as a cultural indicator, showing how consumer habits and daily rituals are shifting. Genie Goals describes the book as a practical resource for marketers seeking ideas they can adapt, while also highlighting brands that demonstrate a strong understanding of both culture and customers.

Industry voices and expert insight

Life Goals includes commentary and case studies from industry contributors including Hannah Spicer, CRM Consultant; Miya Knights, best-selling author and strategic consultant; Freddie Chatt, ecommerce SEO consultant; James Gurd, fractional ecommerce director and consultant; Hannah Callaghan, Partner Manager at Mention Me; and Brian Graydon, Head of Partnerships at Nosto.

Additional insights come from Genie Goals’ internal specialists, including Jérémy Courty, Head of Paid Search; Sam Thompsett, Head of Paid Social; and Rachel Said, Head of Affiliate and Partner Marketing. Their day-to-day work with brands helped shape the thinking and analysis behind this year’s edition.
